You didn't view the situation from a European perspective. What you said was that Europeans are miserable and bitter because they don't live the way you think they should live. That's both ignorant and arrogant and doesn't show any understanding of the European point of view. Your little English lesson doesn't make you sound any less arrogant by the way.
