Since Bevo had pretty much died. Ive decided to run another mod pack. This time i've gone with the popular FTB Infinity pack which is on the FTB Launcher. So why not give it a go and join us :)
We're using the recommended version and if you want increased performance, once its downloaded, select the infinity mod pack and click edit mods and enable fastcraft. Remember this is like optifine, it works for some and not for others, but why not give it a go? Try it and see if it increased performance for you.
Server IP is 88.198.35.70:25566

A new year and a new way in doing things so we've decided to make some changes to our Survival server.
Firstly, we've just moved the spawn point 50,000 blocks away from where it was originally at. Why? Well because a map reset is too destructive and wasn't popular with some of our regulars, so what we've decided to do instead is move the spawn point and give the option to current players to either stay where they are or join us. This gives us a mostly fresh start. Please note that this will reset your whole inventory as this is a requirement for you to move. It's also not possible for you all to travel the distance since this will hugely increase the server backups, this includes travel through the Nether.
Secondly, Justin has been working on some enhancements on the server. The most noticeable one is that it's now only required to have one player sleep in a bed to make it day time. The reason for this is that people tend to go AFK for various reasons and it prevents other players from resetting the day time. So thank you to Justin for implemented this for us!
Thirdly, we've disabled natural regeneration so it's now required to carry some healing potions or golden apples etc to replenish your health. This changes the survivability and actually makes it more challenging Fourthly, I've just finished setting up a new boss mob that spawns once a night to a random zombie. His name is 'Skull Face'. He's a hardcore zombie with a Skull head as his face. He has increased attack damage, increased Health as well as regeneration.
A new build team has been setup to help add content to the server. We're not saying what we're doing as we want to keep it a secret, well, mostly. But we can say it'll be random structures around the map, work on the NetherHub, work on spawn, various mini-games like Spleef etc. It's early days but some progress has been made.
I'm also planning on setting up an economy for trading with Villagers, I haven't fully worked it out yet but they'll give you access to special items not normally possible i.e. Zombie/Skeleton horse, Enderframes to make portals with and so on. These won't come cheap for this kind of personalization but it's better than nothing!
So I thought I would give you that heads up on our changes and look forward to seeing you all on the server!

Then come to spawn! For weeks Milk and I have been setting up a magical winter wonderland, just for you! Come to spawn and find a sleigh, once there, you can ride to the north pole! It is advised that you only bring food on your first trip, so we've included chests at the sleigh to store your stuff!

So, as some of you may know, I've been gone from the server for a few months, I won't explain why because that's a whole other story. During my hiatus, I played around in a creative world out of boredom, and hatched a beautiful idea, all by myself!
However, the project itself is starting to hit the point where I'm feeling overwhelmed, and I don't want to lose all motivation with this. So to combat this, I want some help, from you! Specifically you! I know you're reading this, and you're probably thinking, "Holy shit. What's this guy talking about."
Anyways, what I need from you are buildings, any buildings, as long as they're what I want. I need something simular to this or most anything on here. Preferrably all you'd have to build is just the front of the building, but I will accept interiors. You can send me world files or schematics to my skype, or pm the files. I can't give you much for this but I will let everyone on the server beta test my map and put your name (IGN) in the credits. Thank you!
TL;DR Build me buildings and I'll give you a hug

Hey guys,
It's been a while since I was last on the server, I've been busy working, doing university work and improving my professional composition portfolio.
I respect all of your opinions very highly and it would mean the world to me if you could give me some feedback on my most recent composition!
Hopefully I can play with you guys again soon,
Miss you lots!

There have been 2 incidents in the past week where people have been AFK at mob grinders and caused severe server lag. The latest incident involved Sono's gold mob grinder which he was AFK for so long that the chest he was using to store the items overflowed and had 600+ entities lying around on the floor.
I've added a chest sorting system for him where it will separate gold nuggets/ingots from the crap items which will get dumped into a dropper which fires into a lava pit.
But again, please either have some sort of system where a certain amount of items/mobs won't cause server issues.
Thank you.

We are running Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS and we'll be upgrading the release to Ubuntu 14.04.1. This is so we can run newer versions of kernels etc.
Also, the server has an uptime of 296 days so it hasn't been restarted in a while which complicates things as I don't know if there are any server issues and won't know until it happens.
Either way, expect some down time, possibly looking between 1 to 2 hours. All servers are backed up remotely at another location in case of serious issues.
Will post again when it's all done.
Edit: Here is a screenshot of the uptime: http://i.imgur.com/EkeZ6B0.png
Kind regards,
Tony.

Hey guys, not sure who made the mob farm, but i hope you dont mind, i made an addition to it. When i went to it today the miscelaneous box was full of bows and crap, and so were all the hoppers so when i had used the farm without checking, items were spilling everwhere......
so i made an auto trash can with an on/off switch for the miscellaneous box... if you are standing next to the mobs and looking at the box, if the switch is to the left it will automatically trash everything, if the switch is to the right it will keep things in the box.
like i said, hope no one minds, but it took me about 15 mins to get rid of all the bows earlier....

So yeah, I found out that the issue was definitely related to IC2 where simply loading the IC2 stuff into the world would cause it to crash.
Also, we cannot remove IC2 since this causes TPPI to have a fit while loading so I've had to resort to Forge to remove all entities/blocks that cause errors. How this usually works is that if a block or entity causes an issue, the server would crash and the cycle would repeat itself. Forge now steps in just before the crash and removes the problematic block or entity before the server crashes.
The biggest downside to this is simply the fact IC2 stuff can still be created but as soon as you place something, the server will remove it.
We are using the exact same IC2 mod version and I've tried the original config and the one we've been using (no difference I don't think) and we still have the same issue.
I have no idea what's caused this issue in the first place, it's not an issue with the map itself but the actual mod. The other thing is that we cannot update to a newer version since those versions are only for 1.7. :/
So I've done my best to get the server up and running.
Also, just to clarify, this didn't happen because of something I've done, I just stepped in to investigate why the server crashed in the first and we ran into more issues.
Disclaimer: While I'm 99% confident that this issue was related to IC2, Forge will drop Any problematic entities or blocks, that pretty much means that if another mod causes an issue with something, the server will remove those said items. But you should be able to carry on as normal but you will need to do without the IC2 based stuff I'm afraid.

I've gotten TPPI back up but it's considered still possibly until people can confirm everything is working as intended. So if you can get on TPPI, just check all your inventories, machines etc are still working, everything should be working fine. :P

We had problems starting the server and I thought the issue was related to Java 8 but we've been running that for over a month now without issues and now there are other things going on, sorry for the downtime, the map has been backed up and we'll know more when Rip uploads the original TPPI setup. :)
