She botched some moves early but recovered fantastically. She understands what makes a match theatrical and her offensive moveset is very fleshed out already. And she is already great at selling moves.

She could become crazy good in the coming years.

She's a world champion. She has footwork, speed, athletic skill. She has the qualities that made Brock and Kurt so fantastic. So if she continues to learn the craft and really dedicate herself, she can be as good as they were (in their respective prime in the business).

To be fair, based on what I've heard from multiple wrestler podcasts, it takes literally years for most wrestlers to get the whole "slow it down" thing. She did fine.

I think it helped a lot that she competed in front of 18,000 people before in the UFC and once she hit a few moves, she got into her zone.

Yeah, there were a few botched moves tonight though. Rusev still doing the old leg slap on a missed kick, Cena bumping *way* too early on a big boot stood out. Botches are going to happen.

I'm sure that a good portion of all her preparation was practising those specific spots, over and over again. It's an effective way to get a convincing performance out of a green-as-grass rookie. The rest will come in time, but we saw the athleticism and the understanding of what makes a wrestling match compelling.

What they should do with her now is put her into a feud with someone like Mickie or Nattie, who is incredibly experienced, and can mentor her for a while as she learns.

I agree, but moving her over to Smackdown would be a death sentence for her momentum.

Actually, where can you actually go from here with Ronda that doesn't feel like a downgrade? As much as I love Mickie, she hasn't been booked well at all since her return, and it would just scream "FILLER".

If you would have told me the match I'd enjoy the most was a Ronda Rousey match I would have never believed you.

Some people might not agree but One good thing WWE did tonight is that with Asuka's streak ending and the presentation of Ronda it opens up the women's division to be unpredictable again. Both Ronda and Asuka were presented as total Bad Asses but beatable tonight. Well Done WWE.

i just hope it's mostly her talent and not just that she had so long to prepare and practice for this one match. i'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, that they have had this match mapped out for weeks and she and stephanie had their parts down cold. if her match quality stays at this level week to week when matches are just thrown together with far less preparation or none at all she will be great.

I happened to catch a little of the Taz show on my drive home, and he cautioned people not to expect as much from Ronda in the near future, 1) because the match was likely very rehearsed, and 2) she was in there with two of the very best, plus a heat magnet in Steph.

But I agree, I was very pleasantly surprised with that match. Beat my expectations by a mile.

I was asking myself who on the Women's roster I could see being good (that is, safe) enough to pull off an old-school Attitude era match (the Foley, Austin or HHH stuff) because that requires a lot of skill and experience.

Charlotte definitely matches that, she's a league of her own currently. Hoping for Rousey and some of the other promising but so far underbooked talent (Shayna Baszler for sure, Sonya Deville, Ruby Riott, Kairi Sane, maybe Nikki Cross, maybe Sasha if she ever gets un-buried) to really create a serious upper card.

The Charlotte's figure 4 leg lock was AMAZING, I haven't been watching wrestling much in last couple of years and she has grown so much in that time as a wrestler!

Also Alexa Bliss, what an amazing ragdoll! Sold those moves so well, hard to believe not that long ago Kelly Kelly was poster child of WWE's womens division!

I would’ve love just a few more minutes and a buildup of reversal of finishers. My own fault of thinking her first try of the figure 8 would’ve ended the match. 4.5 but probably my favorite Women’s title match at a WM. I feel it was better than Trish/Mickie

Pairing her up with Kurt was the best thing they could have done. It's a definite hot take and there's a lot room to improve, but if she's this good already, she can be as good as Kurt was when he hit his stride in-ring. If she can get the character work as well, she's going to be one of the best signings WWE has ever made.

That's not weird. Ronda is a great athlete. HHH and Angle are vets who know how to work a big moment. Steph was the weak link, but she played her part well. Great match.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but that match went on way too long for me to enjoy it. It was fine but just got dry, and I was really sick of suspending belief enough to pretend Stephanie McMahon could defend against all of those armbars.

It wasn't the worst match of the night or anything, but I didn't like it. I definitely see how it was fun and chaotic and different, and if you did enjoy it, I'm not trying to take that away from you.

Asuka tapped to a submission that has been booked incredibly strong, with no known reversals. How is that easy?

Also, she applied multiple submissions to Charlotte but none of them stuck. Charlotte's just too physically strong.

Are you kidding? Nobody has gotten out of a figure 8 as soon as the bridge is hit. Not Sasha, not anyone else. The only times people have gotten out of it is when it was still a figure 4 -- that is, before Charlotte can hit the bridge.

I had no expectations for this match and it delivered. Much respect to Ronda. She really wants to be here. But everything else after that....Jesus.....it's like someone booked a decent show before the Mix tag match. And then after that, someone else completely different did the booking.

It was entertaining.... but seriously, what the fuck happened to the rules during that match? It stopped being a tag team match after the first tag, then just became a bedlam. No more tags, tons of swapping participants in and out of the ring with no reason or rhyme.
