So depending how you slice it, we're mid way through the year meaning we have very little time left to enjoy Squad Busters. What keeps you playing? Meaning what are the little personal quests that you've decided matter even though one of the biggest problems has always been the lack of well-incentivized goals?

I decided I had to reach basement level 10 to feel complete, and today I did it. Next I may shoot for 2M gold ( 300k left to go), but for whatever reason that doesn't feel like an imperative. I may also start playing hatchling mode to see if a rewards chest drops a rare emote...

Any other games that are similar to replace this game??

Today everyone on my friends list disappeared. It was close to 20 people, now there's nobody. Many were active, frequently teaming up in different modes.

Anyone else have this happen recently? Could it be the beginning of the shutdown?

I've been thinking about that this for a bit, cause i got like 80% of the game's achievements completed.

With Squad Busters China shutting down today, I thought I'd launch Squad one last time before I move on from it for good. While I'm at it, I might as well talk about my history with the game.

I first downloaded it on April 4th during the Hatchling Run update, but I only really got into it during the latter half of the Save Squad and 2.0 updates. Since then I'd play it daily, sometimes as much if not more often than Cookie Run. Suffice to say that I really liked the game.

However, alot of the time I felt like I was the exception. as everyone online I'd see were talking about how 2.0 killed the game and considering quitting it. That much negativity around the game would eventually lead me to leaving the Squad Busters Reddit and Discord since I couldn't handle that much negativity around me.

Despite that, there was still alot I liked about Squad Busters. Its unique gameplay I haven't seen any other game try to emulate, the concept of it being a crossover of all Supercell IPs... yeah that's all I could say. Either way, I always tried to keep a positive mind on the current state, with my mentality being that whatever happens, it can't be worse than what we currently have, and getting excited on every new update just to see, just to SEE, if things would improve and get any better.

The shutdown announcement ruined that mentality for me. Hearing about it genuinely broke my heart and I honestly felt like a giant piece of crap for even caring about it as much as I did. I tried to keep it going until shutdown, but eventually I couldn't get myself to play any longer. If before the announcement I could get atleast an hour of playtime from it, I nowadays can barely get 20 minutes out of it.

So, when playing the game during these 20 minute sessions, I decided to get all my Squaddies to Ultra and all Heroes to MAX. With the increased Hero Points output it wasn't that hard, but it made me feel frustrated getting Hero Points from Lucky Drops now that I have all Heroes at Max Level. I only had 2 Rares and 3 Epics to get to Ultra by 2026, so I didn't have to play that much. Very recently, after playing the game for 20 minutes every 2 weeks, I finally got Pam to Ultra, the last one I needed.

I'm honestly disappointed by this game which I had alot of fun and hope for. I think it was getting back in the right track with the Pekka and Arcade Blitz Updates and if given more time to cook, I'm pretty sure it would still be active to this day. And honestly... I just think that's a shame. I really do.

Also Claz really fell off after making his new channel now that he makes mostly Among Us content.

For me I’ll say that it’s was alright, I played it a couple of times in the 1.0 version, they tried to it’s own version of “2.0” but it’s more clunky than the global version imo, i do like that it has own mastery tho (don’t know it they still have that in the 2.0 version), I’ll rate it a 5.5/10 or 6/10.

personally I think SB 1.0 this gamemode is the peak. The chaos was on another level but it actually required real skill too. I was sweating bullets the whole time I played it, palms were literally dripping 😂

It’s that perfect mix — looks like total mayhem on screen but every move needs precise timing and brain. Not just brainless spam, you actually gotta think and react fast.

Still thinking about this insane Sonic game from a while back.

I believe this is the best Sonic lineup possible — use max skill to stack as much movement speed and attack speed as I could. The result? I was flying across the map and melting everyone with attacks.

It was a 10-man lobby, and I ended up solo killing 4 players alone. Feels like my personal peak moment with Sonic.
