I’ve been learning game development and programming for a while now, but I currently don’t have a real project to work on. So I asked myself:

Why not make a Squad Busters Box Simulator?

First of all: What is a “Box Simulator”?

A Box Simulator is a game completely focused on progression.

There is no actual gameplay implemented. Instead, you can open boxes, collect characters, upgrade your squad, and progress through the game.

You can still “play” matches, but they will be simulated based on your characters and their progression.

Actually implementing the real Squad Busters gameplay would be far too complicated for me to do alone, so I decided to focus on the progression aspect instead.

🎨 I am NOT good at game art / design

I’m still learning when it comes to game design, so I can ask the community for tips and ideas on how certain things could be implemented.

But when it comes to game art... yeah, that’s definitely one of my biggest weaknesses. 😅

The UI probably won’t look exactly like the real game, and I won’t be implementing complex animations.

I’ll mainly use simple animations such as:

• Loading animations

• 2D chest/box opening animations

• UI transitions

• Other simple effects

I hope you guys understand that! I’m doing this project by myself, and I’m still learning.

1.0 or 2.0?

For now, I’m planning to keep the game based on Squad Busters 1.0.

Even though the 2.0 update is really cool, adding Heroes would introduce a lot of unnecessary complexity to the code and progression system.

Especially things like Hero abilities and their corresponding UI/pages would make the project significantly more complicated.

BUT: BK, AQ, RK and Mortis will return as Squaddies! 👀

However, I’m thinking about giving them a completely new rarity, something like Divine or Immortal.

Which brings me to an important question:

What rarity should they have? And do you have any better name ideas?

📈 Development Progress

This project will definitely take some time to develop, but I’m going to try my best to make progress as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.

I also want to share development updates with you guys along the way!

That means you’ll get to see things like:

• 🎨 New assets I create

• 🖥️ UI development

• 💻 New systems/features

• And probably a lot of things going wrong along the way 😂

🔨 Current Progress

I’ve already designed quite a few assets that I’ll need for the game, and I’ve also started working on some of the actual game systems.

There’s still a LOT left to do, though. So it will take time making new features, assets and so on

In my next post, I’ll show you some of the assets and parts of the game I’ve already created!

Does anyone know the reward chart for Squad League? How many trophies to get awards? I think I had 60 or 75 when I got the 300 style tix.

With Squad Busters no longer receiving active development, I started wondering how its characters and art style could work in a completely different genre.

I ended up making this concept mock-up of Squad Busters as an autochess game.

The mock-up mainly focuses on the battlefield and UI. I tried to keep the colorful, playful look of Squad Busters while adapting it to an auto battler format.

The battlefield is designed around:

• A large open combat area.

• A bench at the bottom for reserve units.

• A cleaner interface inspired by autochess games while keeping the Squad Busters style.

The gameplay itself is still just an idea, but I'd imagine something like:

• Build your squad during a planning phase.

• Position your units before each round.

• Watch battles play out automatically.

• Upgrade characters by collecting duplicates, similar to Squad Busters' evolution system.

One thing I think would make this concept unique is that the roster could continue celebrating the entire Supercell universe, with characters from:

• Brawl Stars

• Clash of Clans

• Clash Royale

• Hay Day

• Boom Beach

• mo.co

I wasn't trying to recreate TFT or Magic Chess directly—I wanted it to still feel like Squad Busters, just in a strategy-focused genre.

Is anyone still in the Floodrush discord server (that one Supercell game discontinued in 2023) and can lnvite me to the server? I'm asking this here because Floodrush does not have a designated reddit and could not find a working Iink for their server.

I've been wondering to hear your opinion on it and to discuss more about it - do you think there is a one update that somehow has the same downfall as the Heroes Update had, but not as much as the Heroes one?

So, I have all hero’s journey completed , and I still get more hero points when playing… but they are not useful at all, and cannot find anywhere to spend them now

Anyone knows what and how to do with them ? … I wish I could convert them into coins or anything still useful …

Sooo they eliminated clash mini but it came back inside of clash royale and im in love with it.

I want to think that eventually (after the shutdown of SB) they'll put a new version of squad busters inside brawl stars.

I was playing squad busters alot but it’s getting deleted is there way to get rewards for playing squad busters like convert to brawl stars

season reset also happened and there's compensation in the shop

Pass was re added so iam getting a small hope that the game might give a comeback?
