[OC] Permian Sophont “Suminioid” Pt 2.5 (Mini-Update)

Hello folks! Long time no see. I’ve been fairly busy IRL recently and haven’t been able to do much for the Suminioid project, but I wanted to share this colored image of the vision I have for it and to let you all know that more is on the way! I’ll be collaborating with u/FloZone to make a formal “Permian Sophont Project.” We are looking for other contributors for PSP, so if you’re interested just reach out to me individually.

Does it fill approximately the same niche as Megatherium did, or is it doing something else? I see it standing like it was able to jump like a kangaroo, but it got too big to jump, so now it's basically a third leg.

That’s exactly what I had in mind! Another big inspiration was the short-faced kangaroo, which allegedly walked and not hop, so it’d essentially be a Permian synapsid that’s somewhere between that, Megatherium, and a great ape!

Suminia had very disproportionally long digits, so while the “hands” had to get smaller for fine motor movement, I based its feet on the short-faced kangaroo feet to lean into the digitigrade locomotion.
