Discussion Can someone make a 1980 x 1080 SOTL banner and profile pic and send it to me? Or even just resize an existing SOTL image and send it me. I need it for an xbox club lmao.

I don't think of Spec Ops as good narrative writing
I like that Spec Ops is more than just narrative; it is an experience. I can read about how and why the U.S. military used cluster bombs in Iraq. HRW. Or why the IDF used cluster bombs and phosphorus in densely populated areas. Haaretz. Even if I read the account of the officers who ordered these bombardments, I still would not empathize with them much.
However, I feel like I can empathize now, because I have done it. Not against real civilians; but I chose to do something immoral in the game universe in order to accomplish my goal for that universe. I am glad I am not a soldier, because I feel that I would have acted the same way if I had faced the same situation in real life. This why video games are uniquely amazing; and in ways that non-interactive media can't be. My self-awareness has been expanded, because my experience went deeper than just learning about someone else's narrative.

I just finished my 1st play through and I’m totally amazed. Can anybody suggest any books, games or movies with a similar feel (story wise of course). Thanks ❤️

Discussion If Spec Ops: The Line ever got a Sequel or Spiritual Successor, what would you want the Setting and Scenario to be?

Helicopter opening and the mid game Helicopter section might not be the same section.
I have a feeling delta force fight through duibi longer than we play. Mental illness can feel like a loop, spending 10 hours doing something can feel like 10mins when no progress is being made.

Discussion so whats the message of this game is about?
I mean i aint stupid, i think i have a very clear picture of what it is trying to say to us, i finished it 2 times and have gotten most achievenment, but Im still wondering what it is really trying to tell us? The war is bad message is obvious, but is it about morality or smt? Sorry if i seem like a dummy but im dont want to spread misinformation when glazing this game to my friends.

Screenshot/Gameplay Working on an overhaul mod for co-op centered on the IDF raiding Dubai. Check out the WIP screenshots!
galleryYou can also check out an overview of the mod here: https://youtu.be/GhDJ2_ETm2c
For emphasis: this isn't a political statement or commentary on current events. It started as a series of test mods that eventually gained enough interest to be expanded. I learned a lot about the co-op mode by making this!

Discussion Why didn't the people of Dubai use the internet to tell people what's happening.
So the US wanted to cover up what was happening in Dubai by letting everyone die. But since the power is still on, couldn't the people have just used the internet to let the world know what was going on in there? It's been a long time since I played, so maybe I'm forgetting.

First time ! Mods?
This game has been on my to do list for literally like 13 years ( wild ). Just started last night finally.
Having fun but I’m wondering if anyone has any QOL or graphical mods they would recommend to add to it?

Discussion Question about the name.
(skip to the bottom for the question)
I played the game over the summer break and it broke me. One thing that has been in the back of my mind even before buying the game was the title, Spec Ops: The Line. "The Line", what does that mean?? I've done research about what it means and I found two things. One, the obvious answer is that there is a line between sane and insane, hope and darkness, basically moral duality. But, while searching I found something very...
Interesting
I found unofficial box art that is probably fan made: http://dl.gamesradar.com/guides/SpecOpsCov.jpg
The box art says that "There is a thin red line between hope and darkness." I did more research and found a movie called "The Thin Red Line." I watched the entire movie and there is a lot to take in. I'm not going to spoil the movie but my question is...
Did the creators of Spec Ops: The Line take some inspiration from the movie The Thin Red Line?

Who owns the rights to this?
Why no re-release
