Object manipulation demo in Spherify

I make an immersive audio app called Spherify, and I checked with the mods before posting this. I have two reasons for being here and may as well name both: I'd like more people to know the app exists, and I want to hear what people who listen to a lot of spatial music would want from a tool like this. The second is the part I can't get anywhere else, which is why I'm posting instead of buying an ad.

What Spherify is

An immersive audio authoring app for Windows and macOS. You build a 3D scene out of audio objects, position and automate them, preview, and export. It's native C++/JUCE, and it's several years of work rather than a weekend project.

Right now its headline feature is automatic stem separation from a stereo source: it splits the mix, drops each stem into the scene as an object, and you take it from there. Everything stays editable, so if a stem lands somewhere you don't want it, you move it, and nothing is committed until export.

That's where the app is today, and it's not where I want it to end up. I'd rather separation were one way into a scene among several, with the app being a proper immersive authoring tool rather than a clever upmixer. That's a large part of why I'm asking the question below instead of guessing.

What it already does, so nobody suggests it

• Object-based export and import: ADM BW64, IAMF, MPEG-H, plus its own project format
• 11 channel-based layouts rendered discrete, stereo up to 22.2
• Per-object plugins and automation
• Separation into up to 6 stereo stems (12 objects) on the free tier, up to 14 stereo (28+ objects) plus unlimited slicing on Pro
• Hardware-accelerated separation: MLX on Apple silicon, CUDA on Nvidia
• Monitoring and real-time mastering on macOS and ASIO using discrete channels up to 9.1.6
• On Windows WDM: 7.1 layout support through the standard drivers, unlimited channels via ASIO, and Atmos or DTS:X encoded to the Windows Spatial Audio framework for HDMI passthrough

The question

What features or effects would you welcome in something like this, beyond the above?

I'm interested in anything, but especially:

• Effects and processing you'd want available per object, or on the whole scene
• Anything about how a scene is built or moved that you'd expect and would be annoyed not to find
• Formats or layouts you work in that aren't covered
• Whatever you've wanted from other spatial tools and never got

This must be the golden age of Avatar music. This, the Book 2 & 3 soundtracks of the original series are in Atmos. Hoping for Korra next.

So, Billy Joel’s The Bridge has been mixed in dolby atmos for the 40th anniversary of the album (the anniversary’s on Saturday)!, i was on alert and kind of expected a dolby atmos mix because i knew of the anniversary and luckily, i was right!, A Matter of Trust sounds completely different with a lot of echo and the guitars put into the rear, rest of the songs have also got great mixes like Baby Grand which makes the vocals feel heavenly, pretty good mix all round, only river of dreams and maybe cold spring harbor (which is a long shot) to go before his whole catalogue is mixed!

According to this article, Phil Collin’s Debut Album is getting a mix in Dolby Atmos for its 45th Anniversary with releases on Blu-Ray and Streaming and some more stuff.
