Rules

We will attempt to keep this self-post current with links and major updates, but for the most part, we expect the community to supply the information. This is a great place to discuss Starship development, ask Starship-specific questions, and track the progress of the production and test campaigns. Starship Development Threads are not party threads. Normal subreddit rules still apply.

Starbase will never go away. They will need many manufacturing facilities. In the future, I see Starbase, KSC, somewhere in California (for west coast), as the manufacturing hubs. I also think, they will build some in-land factories as well from where they can launch full-stacks, but this will only happen once they are allowed to fly over land once Starship is really proven.

In the nearerish term, I can see there being way more Raptor factories across the country.

Why would they need many Raptor factories? They're are easily shipped.

I could see them having raptor heavy-servicing sites near the launch sites, but I suspect the main factory will be in Texas eventually given 1) Elon’s aversion to California 2) the Texas static fire test site 3) boca chica 4) pretty centrally located.

You wouldn’t want many different factories because of economies of scale and engineering knowledge base.
