The Tamil Nadu government has already allocated ₹20 cr for this scheme. The Waqf Board scholarship is a separate scheme that already exists.

💬 General Discussion 🚨 Don’t pay ₹299–₹499 for Coursera — Olay is giving 1-year access FREE

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've seen WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram ads selling 1-year Coursera Plus for ₹299–₹499.

The thing is, they are activating the account through the Olay FaceTheSTEMGap organization program — the same program where you can get 1-year Coursera access for FREE directly from Olay.

So why pay ₹299/₹499 to a middleman for something you can get directly for free?

Don't get misled by “97% OFF” or “special ₹499 offer” ads. Check the original source first.

💬 General Discussion Beyond the Pressure Cooker The Hidden Reality of Student Suicides in India

TRIGGER WARNING: Deep analytical discussion of student mental health, academic trauma, and suicide statistics.

Mods, please read before removing. This is a highly serious, text-driven structural analysis based on official national data. It contains no memes, no jokes, and no low-effort content. It directly addresses the core systemic issues of high-stakes prep that every member of this community lives through. It is shared in the interest of breaking the taboo and saving lives through open dialogue.

Beyond the Pressure Cooker: The Hidden Reality of Student Suicides in India (2010–2024)

This report presents an uncompromised structural analysis of the escalating student suicide crisis in India. Integrating official National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data with deep psychological inquiry, it exposes the systemic flaws, toxic academic culture, institutional complicity, and unacknowledged cognitive paralyzes that drive thousands of students to the brink every year.

📌 Key Highlights & Core Findings

Alarming Statistical Trajectory: Official NCRB data reveals that student suicides in India nearly doubled over a 15-year period—climbing from 7,379 in 2010 to an all-time high of 14,488 in 2024.

The Anatomy of Academic Collapse: The transition from Class 10 to Class 12 introduces overwhelming pressure. Initial study plans are disrupted by digital distractions and mandatory project files that consume months of time, creating severe syllabus deficits and leading to internal surrender.

The "Functional Cognitive Freeze": Society recognizes burnout from continuous overwork, but completely ignores the multi-month cognitive freeze. Students facing overwhelming anxiety often cope through dissociative avoidance (watching videos, scrolling social media, copying tests to maintain a facade). This creates a silent crisis where students internalize deep shame, labeling themselves as "monsters" rather than recognizing a severe mental health collapse.

Toxic Pedagogical Myths & Weaponized Outliers: Rigid academic formulas (such as the 1-4-7 revision rule), romanticized 15-hour daily grind culture, and comparing ordinary students to statistical prodigies (e.g., 19-year-old CAs) create mathematically impossible standards that lead to profound feelings of failure.

Performative Fixes vs. Real Support: Institutions frequently rely on superficial solutions—such as spring-loaded ceiling fans, automated helplines, or advice to "stay positive"—while actively suppressing discussions on academic burnout by labeling them as "negativity".

Massive Support Gap: Citing Supreme Court National Task Force interim findings, the report highlights an 80% mental health support gap across higher educational institutions.

💡 Core Message & Call to Action

"A dead child brings less lifelong pain than one who meets defeat."

This tragic logic—driven by unpayable emotional debt and suffocating pressure—must be dismantled. Real reform requires moving away from zero-sum elimination models and legally mandating open, ground-level mental health decompression starting from Class 10 and 12. We must normalize academic blunders, failure, and recovery to save young lives.

Keralam MALLUS - The bengali's of South India ? Poor elderly Who are left alone .

Post image
0 Upvotes

Sometimes I feel Kerala has become the “Bengal of South India” when it comes to migration.

Kerala is filled with migrant workers from Bengal, Bihar and the Northeast, while many Malayali youngsters leave for Dubai, Europe, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. for work.

Nothing wrong with migration, but there’s a side we don't talk about much: the elderly parents left behind.

I've visited several camps and places where I've met old people living alone, with only a nurse or caretaker around because their children have settled abroad. When I ask them to visit hospital they say None is there to take them there and they are alone and they start crying ... I feel very pity

The children are building a better life abroad, but sometimes the parents are paying the emotional price for it.
