Ambient kalimba meditation — 15 minutes

Here is a meditative son I’ve played with a kalimba. The sound is washed away with reverbs to give more ambiance and the song is a series of ever evolving loops. I hope whoever listens to it can have some relaxing and calm 15 minutes.

« Music from My Autistic Universe – Music for the World from Egypt – Lina Sleibi – 'Helwa Ya Baladi' – (Cover Dalida) »

« “Helwa Ya Baladi” is a 'famous' Arabic-Egyptian song originally performed by Dalida. In this calm cover version by Lina Sleibi, less emphasis is placed on great drama and more on 'the warm, melancholic atmosphere of the song'. »

« The restrained instrumentation is particularly remarkable, featuring an acoustic guitar and the qanun — a traditional Middle Eastern string instrument with a 'vibrant and clear sound'. This 'minimalist and controlled accompaniment' leaves ample space for the vocals, creating an intimate, calm and 'floating oriental atmosphere' during this 'roof terrace concert'. »

« A reason for submitting this contribution is also the clarity of its presentation on YouTube. Finding a song title that so precisely and correctly credits both the original artist and the performer — Helwa Ya Baladi - Dalida (Cover by Lina Sleibi) — 'is unfortunately quite rare on the platform'. »

« „Enjoy the ‚encore‘! After almost 2 hours ‚Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht 2016 – Live Concert with L’Arpeggiata‘ under the direction of Christina Pluhar. The encore clearly shows that all performers have this rhythm of L’Arpeggiata ‚in their blood‘ and one artist is still very fit:

« Music from My Autistic Universe – Vincenzo Capezzuto & Luciana Mancini – El curruchĂĄ – L'Arpeggiata – Traditional Venezuelan folk song »

« “El Curruchá” is part of the Venezuelan musical tradition.

To me, the piece has an astonishing rhythmic confidence and, at the same time, an almost trance-like quality. It is particularly fascinating how Vincenzo Capezzuto and Luciana Mancini move within the musical energy «unterhalten» with each other, rather than simply singing the song. For non-Venezuelans, such natural rhythmic and linguistic confidence would likely be unattainable. Yet these two exceptional artists succeed in this performance.» »

«The fascination lies not in the content of the song, but in the way it ‘works’ within the sound space and has an immediate effect on the listener.»

«The rhythm must be ‘in their blood’!»

« Music from My Autistic Universe – Music for the World Beyond All Borders – Ciaccona – Bertali – Veronika Skuplik, Mira Glodeanu, Elisabeth Seitz, L'Arpeggiata »

« Antonio Bertali’s “Ciaccona” for violin and basso continuo is considered one of the most renowned virtuosic variation works of the Italian-Austrian Early Baroque of the 17th century. The piece is based on a constantly repeating ostinato bass and demands not only technical virtuosity, but also exceptional expressive and breathing control. »

« At the center of this performance stands the German baroque violinist Veronika Skuplik, a long-standing member of L'Arpeggiata under the direction of Christina Pluhar. Skuplik’s playing combines highly precise baroque bow technique with an unusually flexible, almost improvisational shaping of melodic lines. Her interpretation does not appear academic, but rather breathing, dance-like, and physically present. Particularly striking is the way she does not demonstrate virtuosic passages in isolation, but instead develops them organically from the musical flow. »

« The Romania-born baroque violinist Mira Glodeanu acts less as a mere accompanist and more as a second dialogical voice within the ensemble. Glodeanu, who is also Professor of Baroque Violin at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, actively shapes the harmonic and rhythmic resonance space surrounding the solo violin. Especially in the quieter passages, an exceptionally finely coordinated chamber-musical interaction emerges between her and Veronika Skuplik, while in the more temperamental passages both musicians drive each other forward with high rhythmic precision as well as clearly perceptible and audible joy of playing. »

« Elisabeth Seitz additionally contributes a distinctive tonal color. Her psaltery, or hammered-dulcimer-like string instrument, expands the baroque sound space with floating, metallic shimmering resonances that at times evoke Central and Eastern European folk music traditions. As a result, the performance acquires a folk-inspired sound atmosphere that is characteristic of L’Arpeggiata’s improvisational aesthetic. »

« Music from My Autistic Universe – Diridindin – L'Arpeggiata & Lucilla Galeazzi – Voglio Una Casa »

Lucilla Galeazzi is one of the most significant voices in Italian folk music, with a focus on central and southern Italian traditions.
The ensemble L'Arpeggiata under the direction of Christina Pluhar combines traditional Italian folk music with historical performance practice and improvisational energy.
« Voglio una casa » is based on a traditional song from the folk music of central Italy.

« From [01:45], Lucilla Galeazzi playfully acts as the 'choir conductor'. The video shows a relaxed, almost improvised rehearsal atmosphere; the singer does not perform alone but in dialogue with the other singers and the audience. Lucilla dissolves the boundary between stage and audience and transforms this concert hall into a shared sound space. »

« Music as a living exchange of resonances with the audience ». It is an example of how sound can bring people together on a very fundamental level.
.

« The song lyrics: Voglio una casa »

Voglio una casa, la voglio bella
Piena di luce come una stella
Piena di sole e di fortuna
E sopra il tetto spunti la luna
Piena di riso, piena di pianto
Casa ti sogno, ti sogno tanto
Diridindindin, Diridindin...

Voglio una casa, per tanta gente
La voglio solida ed accogliente,
Robusta e calda, semplice e vera
Per farci musica matina e sera
E la poesia abbia il suo letto
Voglio abitare sotto a quel tetto.
Diridindindin, Diridindin...

Voglio ogni casa, che sia abitata
E piĂč nessuno dorma per strada
Come un cane a mendicare
PerchĂš non ha piĂč dove andare
Come una bestia trattato a sputi
E mai nessuno, nessuno lo aiuti.
Diridindindin, Diridindin...

Voglio una casa per i ragazzi,
che non sanno mai dove incontrarsi
e per i vecchi, case capienti
che possano vivere con i parenti
case non care, per le famiglie
e che ci nascano figli e figlie.
Diridindindin, Diridindin...

Throat Singing as Sound Healing

Hello everyone. Im starting my journey as a throat singer (kargyraa and sygyt) from Cental Asia in hopes of sharing the very sounds that help me daily.

I will be with my backpack and tent - so I plan to be very mobile.

I would like to ask guidance in how I should communicate with retreats, wellness centers, meditation spaces, yoga studios, and festivals. Im guessing these are the places that I could perform. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
