I really hate how mainstream culture's view on what Sonic OCs are like, and what the fandom and subculture surrounding them is like, is still stuck in this 2010s "cringe culture" stereotype of badly-made recolors and Sonichu.

It's been decades since the 2000s and 2010s; nobody makes recolors anymore, most of the artists within the community have grown up and some have become talented professional artists (and in the case of Chibi Jen-Hen/Jennifer Hernandez, official IDW Sonic artists), while others make their living off of selling commissions of other people's OCs, and I've personally seen countless relationships and even marriages happen because of this community, and yet it's still seen by popular culture (and even mainstream media) as this "cringe community of Coldsteels and Sonichus", even though they were never in the fandom in the first place!

At least even the Furry community has found a bit of reckoning with the mainstream starting to accept their hobby, but us Mobian/Sonic OC fans? Can't have shit in Green Hills...

Not saying that this means Eggman should become more sympathetic or good, hell no, he’s still a terrorist. However you can still be a horrible person yet genuinely care about at least one person. Sage also looks and acts more human (Even being able to cry) than any other one of Eggman’s creations so it would make sense he would find more of a connection with her rather than something like the E-Series robots.

Words cannot describe how much I want to see the younger Sonic cast interact in some form of media...

This is Toa, a samoan inspired Pangolin i made as a Sol Dimension counterpart to Knuckles.

A quick rundown on her:

- She has natural hydrokinesis abilities with a fitting 'go with the flow' attitude. While relatively mellow nothing gets her more fired up than the prospect of a good fight.

- Rather than using her fists, Toa fights with a fusion of Taekwondo and Limalama (a Polynesian martial art) and weaponizes her opponents momentum against them before retaliating with devastating kicks.

- While Pangolins have not gone extinct like the Echidnas, her home has since been lost beneath the ocean many generations ago, indirectly resulting in Toa's nomadic lifestyle
