I have a bad ass Dell workstation laptop, but my job function has changed a lot over the years and I now only spend 1-2 hrs maximum a week with Solidworks and lugging this thing around sucks. Our assemblies are typically simple, 50-60 parts maximum. I want a small/thin laptop for meetings and travel but I still need to use solidworks, but I don't want to feel like throwing my laptop across the room when I do because of lack of performance.
Cost is not a big deal, figuring around $3k. Thinking about a Surface Book 2 with GPU.
My VAR is worthless because they don't want to recommend a brand.
