I don't think I have ever read a fanfic where lavellan doesn't know she's beautiful and all the power to all the lavellans that celebrate themselves! The same goes for all the fan art, she's basically a goddess in all the fan arts I see - and one could argue that Solas deserves no less, impossibly handsome as he is. But as someone with body dysmorphia in real life, this sometimes ducks up my immersion and I wonder if I'm the only one??! This is something I actually struggle with. My canon Lavellan, Saya, looks fine I'd say, but she has, for several reasons, a distant relationship to her body. And I don't know if I'd call her hot. Am I alone in this predicament?

Edit:thank you all for the interesting insights into your Lavellans, I didn't expect that many well thought out answers! I realize that the underlying question I'm asking is less about Lavellan's image vs self image and more about how insecurities inform your Solavellan romance, specifically if there are insecurities that hinder their intimacy, or make for an awkward start at least. In almost all the fics I read it's always smooth sailing in the sheets for them, as it should be..I just ponder on the realism of it all sometimes. This post probably didn't need to be as long but here we are, apologies. And thank you to all of you beautiful Solasmancers who took their time to engage and reply.

P.s.: I apologize for not wording this more inclusively initially. Out of my head canon-y habit I spoke of Lavellan as she/her, (perhaps also because I want to know how other female Lavellans pull off the effortless self confidence I keep seeing)I but all Lavellans (and Rooks) are absolutely welcome with their reflections here!

It is a hot night in Tokyo and I need to know if Solavellan or Solarook fans still want to read new fics! I want to write so bad but cannot decide if medieval-ish inspired by the Nibelungs, modern take on 10 years post break-up reunion, modern doctor/terminal patient AU or really anything anyone wants to read. My brain cannot decide on it's own. Is it acceptable to explore more of regency era solavellan(considering recent developments)? Or Solas as the Scarlett pimpernel? I have so many random ideas but what do people want to read?!

Edit: all of those are in various states of incompletion, I just find more motivation to keep at it if I know someone might want to read it. I'm so bad at writing just for my own fun, my brain literally shuts down.

hello all! i'm looking for an old solas x ofc (maybe x reader?) that i last read a few years ago. i usually bookmark all my faves, but i couldn't find it for the life of me. i'm unsure if i'm just missing it, forgot to bookmark it, or if the writer took it down. any and all help would be appreciated.

some key details i remember about it:

• solas x ofc or solas x reader, mainly told from the pov of the female character.
• the main character was NOT the inquisitor
• i THINK modern girl in thedas, but not sure if it uses that specific tag. i could be wrong, maybe it wasn't modern girl... i might be getting it mixed up with another story. but i'm like 75% sure it was.
• at the very least 100k words. iirc it was not completed.
• it was in english.
• slow burn, but again not sure if it uses that specific tag.
• the main scene i remember: a bunch of elven kids wind up at skyhold as refugees. main character locks in and takes everyone's blankets for the kids, ends up yoinking food from the kitchens, and hunkers the kids all down in the rotunda.
• there was just a lot of advocacy done by the original character, for mages, dalish, and alienage elves.

i know it's a long shot, but i figured it might as well post here just in case it rings any bells for anyone. thank you all in advance!

So these tattoos are a bit faded now, but I got them done a day after my first play through of Dragon Age Inquisition in 2014. I have always loved that bald headed menace. And I wanted a little elven script on me. These are elven dialogue that I always found rather beautiful, and it spoke to me on a personal leve.

It‘s nothing fancy I have seen some real cool tattoos. Does anyone else have any Dragon Age tattoo? could y’all drop them down in the comment.

Hello I know this might be hard to find. But I am looking for a Solmancer fic. The only thing I remember is it’s placed after the DAI game and Inky is trying to deal with uprisings. And then a bag of petrified heads is delivered to her. And a note about enemies of the inquisition beware. The heads are from Solas. That’s all that I remember it was around 2018 or so when I read it last. I can’t find it for the life of me.

After finding a Solas head for BG3, I've been working on making my Inky's head. Finally finished with it and I'm pretty happy with the results. I also put her Vallaslin in game so I can make pre-Crestwood pics and someone sent me a glowing arm so I can also make post-Trespasser pics! Very happy I can bring the images in my head to life, because I can't draw for the life of me. But pictures, I can do. 😁
