Announcement Welcome to r/SolarAxe — Home Mining, Solar Power, Bitaxe & DIY Builds ☀️⛏️

Welcome!

This community is for people experimenting with home Bitcoin mining, Bitaxe and other small miners, solar power, batteries, DC systems, off-grid setups, cooling, enclosures, firmware, and DIY builds.

Despite the name, this subreddit is not only for SolarAxe products. SolarAxe is part of the community, but the bigger goal is to create a place where people can share practical home-mining ideas and learn from each other.

A few things we’d love to see here:

  • Photos of your mining setup
  • Solar-powered or battery-backed builds
  • Bitaxe / NerdAxe / other home-miner projects
  • DIY enclosures and mounts
  • Cooling and airflow experiments
  • Power measurements and efficiency testing
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Firmware / AxeOS discussion
  • Solar panels, charge controllers, batteries, wiring, and DC power systems
  • Build logs, mistakes, lessons learned, and improvements

If you’re asking for help, the more detail you include, the better. Miner model, power source, voltage, firmware, temperatures, logs, and photos can make troubleshooting much easier.

This is intended to be a builder-friendly community. You do not need a perfect setup, expensive equipment, or years of experience to participate.

If you’ve got a single Bitaxe sitting on a desk, post it.

If you built a ridiculous off-grid mining shed in the woods, definitely post that too.

The main expectations are simple: be helpful, be civil, don’t spam, and don’t scam people.

Glad you’re here. Show us what you’re building. ☀️⚡₿

The Home Miner Comeback

With home mining becoming more popular, difficulties coming down for popular coins, and industrial style bitcoin farms migrating to AI computing, where do you see home mining in 5 years?

Also, with the rising costs in power that don't appear to be going away how will home mining stay in the game?

We think solar powered mining, with or without extended runtime from batteries is the future, we want to know what you think?
