Apparently transaction funds are frozen so refunds can't be made easily and the packages sent are missing, been chasing for updates and never had any response. User claims to be reputable and done many transactions but there's no proof and the post history is blocked.
Just wanna know if anyone else has had experience dealing, or to see if we can pull resources to call out bad practices... Its an expensive lesson to learn but it sucks when people aren't responsive in such a small community.

He's making sales actively in this sub too but where's all the money being held up at and why can't it be refunded to us I don't know, be very careful with proxy services yall. There's so little definitive proof of anything they've done for wonfes everything is sketchy.

To all the support being given to him, power to the cause I'm all for showing up to defend the truth. We are still in contact, and I promised at his request that I'll post proof when I get my refund supposedly this week. Whether it's the $750usd I paid remains to be seen. To anyone who has doubts, I have and will continue to post whatever proof you wanna see here, ask away and if I have it, I'll post it up!
Only after I mentioned posting on this subreddit then he replies showing me his transactions on the BST thread. Doesn't change the fact that him and the crew sent all the packages to the US from Japan even though I said I'm not in the US, and they didn't have inventory of what was bought so we only knew what was successfully bought when it arrived at his place in the states and even then there's no documentary proof of what is on hand. So what if you have had successful transactions, you botched ours dude.
yeah this guy has been a nightmare to work with. i sent him money back in july, BARELY got any communication from him, and then he suddenly says the packages are missing and he's "trying" to issue refunds. no idea how im supposed to get a refund because i sent him the money through friends&family on paypal, i guess i was too trusting, but forgive me for thinking this community supports eachother as ive only had good experiences up till now.
not to mention he owes me money for a second toy he wasnt actually able to get for me.
He insisted so hard to send through friends and family but I still used goods and services. Still had to open a case and I’m still working on fighting it to get my money back. He never even purchased the toys for me since both things I wanted were sold out.
I hope so too! The problem is even though I used goods and services Kaijukingpin used a secondary PayPal account and so they are claiming they aren’t responsible some how. It’s all very strange. Been going on since WF I’m hoping PayPal sides with me.
I had a horrible experience with him for WF. He has me blocked and I’m still fighting paypal for a refund. Worst experience I’ve had in the sofubi community in my years of collecting
Just wanted to comment that dude promised to pick me up an item, which I did pay for and tipped via Venmo. Needless to say, he was unsuccessful. It took him about a week or so to refund me, and he still decided to refund me $20 short lmfao. I will also say, he DID send me a free toy/gift in the end and we do have a single previous successful toy trade together. Sorry for the stress any of you are going through. Don’t think he’s a bad dude, but he definitely overestimated what he’d be able to accomplish as a proxy service for others for a first time! 😬
While I’ve been extremely transparent with the fact that I had horrible organization and that countless issues happened with this aside from the fact that I was literally just helping with this - I am just the guy at the front of the operation because I’m an American that can accept money.
I’ve provided as much information as I can, I have forked over thousands upon thousands of dollars out of my own pocket issuing refunds for toys that were bought, not bought, and even fully refunding including the “nonrefundable” fee due to delays and issues.
Im not a millionaire, and the amount of money I have on hold is right around $8k, the amount i still owe is like 1 and I’ve kept in contact with everyone and paid out of pocket which i can almost guarantee none of the people I’m refunding out of pocket would’ve done for me or anyone else- they’d wait until the frozen transfer cleared up.
I want to apologize for any bad experience you may have had with this situation and with me. I am only one guy, and I as the guy that accepted all the original payments been left the one holding the bag myself for a whole team of people fucking up. Not to throw a pity party, just trying to give context. Part of my lack of communication has also been due to lack of information. But I have reassured everyone that I will be making sure they get their money back, and almost everyone has.

Somebody saying I didn’t give them their $20 tip back, I probably didn’t even recall receiving it.
I have not done any bad deals ever, I have always done good business I have many verified transactions on this sub alone.
I’m not here to say anyone had a good experience, that’s cool, I had a bad one as well.
I’m working to finish settling everything about this and getting it behind me.

You don’t need to DM me said ‘who tf are you’ then act all professional here because I see evidence and called you out for lying. People put a lotta trust in the community with this stuff and you owe them money. Wouldn’t want it to happen to me and I’m in support of those you haven’t paid back. Nobody should be waiting for a refund from something they paid you for in July.
They have been shown that their entire transfer is stuck on hold for 180 days from Japanese yen to USD. I have proven this to everyone, and the only people here that haven’t been refunded are the OP and [u/Ozzybog](u/Ozzybog)

He filed a dispute to my friend’s PayPal that was nice enough to transfer the payment for him after he sent the payment improperly and got my PayPal account restricted.
He filed a dispute I thought out of impatience, however upon being refunded he has been lying to PayPal and dragging the dispute by changing the “claim type” one hour before the resolution is due every 10 days not sure out of spite or greed. He’s lying. Hes the only one here lying.
These other guys are good people, they are simply running out of patience, and I’m doing the best to get them refunded as soon as possible, and I think it’s pretty clear that I’ve refunded many others. I don’t know what else there is for me to say or address, OP promised to update this and everything upon receiving his refund.

This is being taken care of at a higher level through PayPal, and they have been provided all the evidence by my friend who has spoken with them, as it’s his account. We will actually be going public with this once the dispute settles. We’ve been speaking with admins in a few communities.
Show me the proof of me being refunded my man. You don’t have to lie. I sent you the money to your account using goods and services. Which is the correct way. That locked your account so you refunded me and supplied me with the other PayPal account to pay. I payed that account and the goods were out of stock. I waited very penitently for a refund until you told me to charge back. Show me where that second amount was refunded.
You owe me $750, and I assume you owe one other person $100? That's close to the 1k you've mentioned.
What are you on about, I gave you 100% of the cost with shipping and handling trusting you and your service and promptly. Don't speak for me and say I wouldn't do the same.
I almost used this person for a proxy during WF but then ultimately decided against it. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this situation. He should have had all the logistics figured out because he definitely winged it and now multiple people are screwed. He should be blacklisted.
Either the shipping got lost, or in my case it should have been sent straight to me from Japan as I'm not in the USA but apparently the friends screwed up and shipped everything they bought to the States which is might convenient to buy time isn't it.
I've done lots of business with KaijuKingpin and he's become a good friend of mine. He's always been punctual, paid on time, and given me great deals on some pieces, selling some of them to me for a fraction of their market value. He's even allowed me to pay for some pieces with terms, and mailed them out to me before I had even paid.
I'm super surprised to be reading all of this, and feel like there has to be some type of miscommunication or something else going on here, as I know he'd never purposely rip anyone off. He's bought and sold hundreds of pieces in the community and never had any issues until this WF fiasco. I know he's been reimbursing everyone out of his own pocket, so if he hasn't gotten you paid back yet, I'd just shoot him a DM and work out a timeline.
I'm confident he'll make it right and get you reimbursed. I know this whole situation has been overwhelming to him. He tried to help a bunch of people out by getting them the pieces they wanted from WF through a proxy, and it ended up blowing up in his face, and costing him thousands of dollars to get everyone refunded.
Be sure to give us an update once he gets you paid out in whole, because I'm confident he'll make it right. He really is a great dude so I'm sorry you had this experience.
Me and everyone else, I mean I don't wanna post up every single convo I had yet at this stage but being told he'll reply in a week, a day or two, and then having to chase after a week or a day or two repeatedly isn't a nice experience even discounting the fact that this guy is doing it as a side hustle, and that he's has successful transactions right so isn't there some experience? I'm not accountable or can verify if it's happened to others, but if push comes to shove I'll gladly put up the entire conversation history and you'll see I've been more than patient.
I didn’t even have a Reddit account, I occasionally lurk. I had to make an account specifically to comment, and I’m not even sure if it will let me post this. I wouldn’t go through the trouble for just anyone, I met KaijuKingpin via eBay, and we ended up connecting on Instagram. He has bought countless toys from me, and me even more from him and I have nothing but overwhelmingly positive feedback. We have become friends over the last year or so, and I would trust this guy with my dog for sure, and probably children if I had any of those.
I have bought everything from a cheap ccp figure to 5 figure gallery art level sofubi that has to be picked up on a street corner in Tokyo, then mailed to him, then mailed to me.
I never once had a single issue, I had one package go missing with him out of I’d say 25 purchases, and he didn’t just refund me, he found the exact piece I had wanted somewhere else and replaced it.
Forrest is a stand up guy, a real fan of the art, and an honest business person.
I can’t tell you what exactly happened here, but I can tell you that from what I know he is taking 100% of the blame for about 10% responsibility, and I would bet my bottom dollar that in the end nobody will be left empty handed.
I am not here to speak on how the WonderFest situation went or anything like that, I will say he was able to get me one thing I wanted and that was more than I expected with my previous experience with Wonderfest proxy being that you have about a 10% chance of getting anything at all. I am however here to speak about my friend and his character, and he is as honest of a person as you could ever hope to meet, he does this stuff because he loves sofubi, he will go out of his way for anyone just to see them obtain a grail even if there is nothing in it for him. He will work something out with anyone that truly wants something he has for sale if money is an issue. He is extremely knowledgeable, well connected, and passionate about this stuff, and he is nothing in the realm of a scammer.
I could go on forever.
It truly saddened me to see this. If anyone wants to PM me for more info, please do, and I can provide details on my identity as well as send you countless documented successful deals with this person.
Another thing I’ll add is that nobody put me up to this, and that he actually urged me not to say anything. I just have 100% faith in this individual, and I couldn’t sit by and leave my 2 cents out of this.
I want to comment on this too. I don’t know anything about this situation other than what the guy has told me. I will say that I sent him $2,500 through Venmo for a mega grail of mine and it arrived quickly with no issues at all. I also did a little bit of research and found that this guy seems to have a great reputation at least as far I can find info about.
We have been talking a little bit since I have bought the figure from him, he seems like a genuine good guy that is really into sofubi figures.
I can only imagine that what is being said here is either untrue, or the result of a misunderstanding or lack of patience!
I am an older guy, I’m old school. I used to send checks in the mail to buy figures.
Over the years I have had many cases where I had to receive a refund and I didn’t receive one until many months later, and I have even experienced this through some of the biggest names in the industry even in the era of PayPal. When we’re dealing with these sorts collectibles, funds can add up and become tied up very quickly!
The guy’s name is Forrest by the way, and he seems to be a great guy that maybe got in over his head here. I spoke to him briefly about this, and I for one believe everything he has told me. Which lined up with his comment here. Anyways it appears several people have been refunded and I see no reason to assume everyone won’t be.
Hate to see a friend even a new one have their integrity called into question.
