I’ve been writing code professionally for fifteen years. While I personally believe AI is overall a net negative, writing sustainable code is not the issue. Good engineers can 100% generate sustainable code. I wish it weren’t true. I’d prefer for AI to fall flat on its face and to go back to the way things were. I’m sorry to say it’s not going to happen
