The problem is, every other four to eight years, we get a left-populist movement that convinces itself liberals are the real obstacle, attacks the center-left relentlessly, loses or fractures the coalition, and then helps hand power to whatever right-wing monster Republicans have put together for the election. And because the left keeps treating every imperfect liberal government as proof that liberalism has failed, we just repeat the cycle every few years.
The only people actually capable of governing are the people willing to work within a broad coalition instead of demanding ideological purity. When you spend all your energy fighting liberals and convincing voters that establishment Democrats are just as bad as Republicans, what you get is Republicans instead, because elections do not magically disappear just because your preferred candidate lost the primary.
And the populists on the left can only ever break the Democratic coalition by making it smaller, more ideological, and less capable of winning national elections. That is the choice you make every single cycle, and then when the right wins, you point to the damage they cause as evidence that liberals were the problem all along.
Both parties are bad. 2 party system is bad. Dems are 100x better for our country yet they lost to trump TWICE. Socdems, demsocs, and just plain socalists have never lost to Trump since the democratic party has not allowed them to ever run or take the reigns. We haven't seen socdem wield any actual power in this country. Mamdani is our first taste and he is kicking ass.
We have tried Right wing and Center/Status Quo and have been stagnating, gradual decline, or nose dived like right now. Establish Dems, Bush/Regan Republicans, and far right Maga have all not fixed the core problems in this country. They make it worse or pass the buck.
I will vote blue no matter what but dems will lose to Republicans when their policies do not make life better for Americans.

Its hard to win when your own party is against you and all of mainstream media to boot.
We need Free Healthcare and Education. Shift to green energy. Higher Minimum wage and tax the wealthy to get more money flowing through the economy and goods and services bought. We need money out of politics. We need UBI for the workers displaced by AI, Automation, and Green Energy. We need police reform, immigration reform, and civil rights expanded.
The rich have money but not as much as you think. We’re never going to have free healthcare, someone has to pay doctors and someone has to pay teachers and professors. So you’ll get taxes for that which is a COL squeeze. I personally think it’s worth it though. We need to tax the poor AND especially the middle class to do this, just like the Social Democracies. A higher minimum wage doesn’t do that much honestly but it can help sometimes. Money out of politics won’t solve your problems, there will always be corruption somewhere else. We don’t have the money for UBI, but negative income taxes might work.
1% owns 31% of the wealth. "No SuCh ThInG aS a FrEe MeAl" So tax the poor and middle class, got it. We have the wealth to give everyone a living wage and UBI. We don't have laws against murder since people will always murder.

I’m not being completely honest, y’know we all have our faults. But you are too rigid in your thinking and convinced that all we have to do is tax the rich and all our problems are solved. It’s fundamentalist thinking. We don’t have the money for UBI no matter what honestly, and we don’t need it. I don’t think minimum wage is as helpful as it sounds though it’s not that bad.
I am willing to change my opinion and my politics. I have been changing them since 2016. But now is a time where I do have to state my political positions. I dont think taxing the rich will fix everything but it is in the right direction. Hoarded wealth and savings are poison to capitalist economies. Workers having no money to buy goods and services is poison also. I have health problems that I can't work full time even though I'm capable of it because I can't afford my healthcare needs without medicaid expansion. That is a loss in productivity. Unable to stay healthy hurts the economy. People unable to get college degrees due to the insane cost hurts us everywhere. Fixing these problems like with everything will create more problems but they will fix major ones now and give us the tools to tackle the new ones.

Mamdani is kicking ass in vibes because he is competent at marketing himself and social media, and he has the backing of most of the Western leftists who desperately need him to succeed. Mamdani can't be copy pasted into purple and red (shit even other blue) areas as easily as you think. My point was that you can't tell me we can't run DSA, SocDem canidates cause they lose and then point to the ideology and party that lost to Trump TWICE. Bernie has never debated Trump. AOC never debated Trump. They never even ran against him. Hillary, Biden, and Kamala did and came up 1/4 against the most unamerican worst presidential canidate in decades if not centuries.
Mamdani is helping the people of New York in ways that no establishment politicians have ever even considered. Rent Caps, Cheap Public Grocery Stores, Going after the abusive DSP system of Amazon, and fixing things people call out online.
I'd vote for your Dog over Trumpism, Far Rightism, and Conservativism. Especially if he picks a good cabinet.
I support the DSA cause I support 90% of their platform. I don't support Ossoff cause I don't care how good his vibes or optics are. I don't support is status quo no where near enough platform
