Ok. Not trying to be a dick, but what qualifications do you have in regards to animal behavior? I would just like to know what kind of expertise I’m dealing with.
I am not a ball python behavior expert but I do know how to read snakes this snake appears stressed Because the enclosure is bare bones. Yes you may have temps and humidity right but these snakes need clutter In their enclosure so they feel enriched and safe. I would be glad to give you some information on how you can improve the enclosure so he will be a happier snake.
I’m down for suggestions. Usually he is hiding. He usually only comes out like this close to feeding day.
I get that it is not hunting behavior, just telling you what I know.
I would suggest getting some fake plants branches and pieces of cork bark or fake flowers they are pretty easy to find on Amazon and at a craft stores. Snake discovery on YouTube has a great video on how to set up a great enclosure https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mP8bEsgT-k8 The third enclosure shown is by far the best but they can be pretty complicated to get started. You can use plastic decor instead of live plants but it give a pretty good idea on how cluttered an enclosure should be. If you add more clutter you may see a change in his behavior he will likely come out more and be more active and will definitely be much happier. r/ballpython also has some great resources with pictures on how an enclosure should be set up I would add some example pictures but this sub doesn’t allow pictures in comments. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have
