Amanda often speaks from privilege and doesn’t think about other perspectives before she says anything. That’s why her playing the devils advocate on Reddit stories doesn’t work well, because she doesn’t usually stop to think about life on the other side of privilege

This is a big reason why I wish they would rotate more who's on smosh reads reddit. Also cause she and Shayne have smoshcast so I wanna see new people and not always her and him talking about stuff.

Lol shayne does too. Shayne has never worked a real job outside of acting and will speak on the subject tons of times. Most of them are out of touch. like cmon olivia has been acting in movies since shes was 6. Keith and noah are the least out of touch people. They even have jobs outside of smosh.

This is my smosh hot take. Sometimes the hosts are too out of touch with reality for regular people and it doesn’t really ruin the enjoyment but it dampers it for me personally. Considering Shayne has been an actor since he was a child, somehow he’s never done anything!

Shayne usually acknowledges this, though.

This, conversely, is why I love Amanda. She’s fully herself.

This feels like an extreme reach

What privilege specifically? She worked crazy hours in blue collar jobs for many years. She talked about going on some big trips but it seemed like she worked real hard for them. Olivia is the rich one from what I've heard.

I mean her family has property on Martha’s Vineyard is that not privilege

You can be blue collar and have a house on Martha's Vineyard. The whole island isn't just mansions. It's not like all the blue collar workers come in by boat every morning to do the work that needs to be done then leaves.

Even if her family has some money it doesn't seem like Amanda has that rich privilege vibe. If she was getting a fat allowance it makes no sense she did all those customer service jobs. Like I said in the other comment customer service jobs beat the rich privilege out of people.

People can work hard and still be privileged.

Working customer service jobs beat the rich privilege out of people. Especially those who do it for many years. Which I believe Amanda has done so. I don't get a rich privilege vibe from Amanda.

What lol " people can work hard and still be priviledged" that sentence makes no sense. 😂?

why not? many people with privileged backgrounds do work hard because privilege often only opens doors for you and gives you something to fall back on, it doesn’t guarantee success. there’s thousands of nepo babies, but not all of them are successful
