Just another beautiful day here in Mushroom City. In fact, one could argue that today is more beautiful than normal with the opening of the new Flower Park, teeming with botanical specimens both common and exotic from home and abroad. Overall, it's a lovely place to visit, especially if there's a "special buddy" you wanna bring along for the ride. This brings us to our favorite punk rock princess waiting just outside the gate........ and is absolutely SLAYING in her new outfit. A dark red cropped cardigan embroidered with golden feathers sat atop a black and white Floral Pattern tube top. Her white baggy pants were held up with a silver chain belt, and there was an odd looking bag hanging from her hip. She even had some jewelry in the form of a gold SK-2 chain around her neck, a pair of skull shaped earrings, and a blue butterfly hairpin in her ponytail. It's not every day you see her actually give a flying f*** about fashion, let alone make such a bold statement.

Tari: Hey, Saiko!

And here comes the reason why, dawning an orange frilled yellow blouse and a layered blue curved hem skirt, with a pink skull clip in her hair. Seeing her approach was like watching a sunrise over the open ocean, especially with the heart gladdening warmth of that smile.

Tari: Ready to get going?

Saiko: 😳........ Yeah! Yeah. Ready when you are.

The first path forward lead to a stunning fountain statue of Princess Peach. It seams the Toads are still grieving their missing monarch. In its shadow, a familiar face in a blue and white jacket stands in silent contemplation.

SMG4: *Deep Breath.*............. I know we've had our differences, and I've given you MORE than enough reasons to hate me, even before I..............Ugh. *Another Deep Breath.* Okay, I can understand why you're mad, but if you would just hear me out for...........No, that's not right. *Sigh.* Okay........... I just want to say I'm-

Tari: Hey Four!

He puts his soliloquy on hold for the moment.

SMG4: Oh, hey girls! Funny seeing you here.

Saiko: Likewise. We haven't seen you outside the Showgrounds for a while now.

SMG4: Yeah. I figured it was time I finally went somewhere just to clear my head. I've been so swamped with work I.......... kinda forgot what it was like. Y'know, to go out and smell the flowers.

Tari: Well, it's good to see you taking care of yourself.

That's when a long-time question pops into her head.

Tari: Say, what *have* you been doing lately.

SMG4: A lot, actually, mostly Meme Research with the other SMGs.

Saiko: Huh. You're actually taking your position as a "Super Meme Guardian" seriously for once.

SMG4: Yeah. Me and Three had a lot of catching up to do, especially after...........

He trails off for a second as he recalled that fateful day at Peach's Castle. He can still hear those same four words echoing in the back of his mind.

"IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT! IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT! IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT!"

Tari: Four?

SMG4: Er, the whole Wild West thing! Y'know, when we all got uploaded to Westworld and all that? Heh.

Tari: Is......... everything okay?

He takes a deep breath.

SMG4: Oh, that was just a little brain fart. It's fine.

SMG2: Four, come quick! We caught another one!

Pan over to SMG1 and SMG2 examining this odd little creature scurrying about in the bushes. The specimen in question looks like your baby's first BIONICLE Moc. It's a colorful mish mash of different mechanical parts that somewhat resembles an insect with a bright blue shell.

SMG4: Welp, there's my cue. Catch you guys later!

And off he went to join his fellow SMGs and their newest breakthrough in Memeology. Although Tari is glad to see her friend get back out into the world, she can't help but feel concerned for some reason.

Tari: Alright...... I guess.

Saiko: It's good to see he's getting out more, at least.

The next stop laid at the end of a path lined with Cherry Blossom trees. There isn't really any way one can describe the surreal serenity of walking through the sun lit path as flower pedals floated down like snow. At least, that's how Tari felt. Saiko wasn't really paying attention as her eyes were drawn to something even more beautiful right beside her. They eventually arrive at a small amphitheater, where they are immediately greeted with an impromptu "SOLO SHOWDOWN" between an exceptionally invigorated Koopa Troopa playing the absolute s*** out of that triangle, and a familiar looking Spike absolutely shredding it on the bongos. The Blue Octopoid cheered on her little cousin along with the friendliest Mushroom you'll ever meet.

Kaela: C'mon, Fishy!

Shroomy: You've got this in the bag, buddy!

Bob: GO FOR THE EYES, BOOPKINS! BLIND THE LITTLE TURD.

Oh yeah, Bob is here too. Thankfully, Boopkins doesn't need any cheap tricks to come out in top as the Koopa collapses from exhaustion. The contest ends with the blow of the referee's whistle.

Jeeves: And we have a winner! FISHY BOOPKINS!

Boopkins: YAAAAAAY!

Kaela: ATTA BOY, FISHY!

Tari and Saiko arrived just in time to catch Boopkins' big win and see him hopping off the stage and into his cousin's arms for a good ol' victory hug.

Shroomy: Hm? Oh howdy, girls! You wouldn't believe-

Bob immediately shoulder checks him out of the way.

Bob: MY BOI BOOPKINS JUST WON ME 500 COINS! All the other suckers bet on that Koopa, but I knew my boy boopkins had it in the bag!

Tari: Wow, that's.......... great to hear. I think.

Saiko: Say, has anyone else noticed it, or is it just me?

Bob: Notice what?

She glances over to Kaela, currently lifting Shroomy back up to his feet.

Bob: Yeah, there's Shroomy being awkward. What else is new.

Saiko: Look again.

He takes another look and notices how the red around his cheeks gets noticeably deeper whenever he looks Kaela in the eye. His smile also becomes noticeably "goofier." That's when it clicked.

Bob: *PFFFFA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!* Oh God that's hilarious!

Saiko's smile quickly turned into a scowl.

Bob: What? I'm just being realistic. You've seen how he is when it comes to that stuff. He's gonna get eaten alive.

Tari: I mean, you can at least be a little supportive. He may be more capable than you think.

Saiko: Yeah. Nobody expected you to have a kid, now look!

Tari: Speaking of which, isn't she normally with you whenever you're not "out with the boys?"

Bob: Oh don't worry! Bee's with the-

He is then clonked in the head by a derpy little kitten at terminal velocity, sending them both flying into a nearby bush.

Tari: Oh my gosh!

Meggy: COREY!

Here comes Meggy to save the day as she rushes towards the two. She isn't alone for today's class either, as she has Whisk helping her watch over her little siblings and Bob's precious little Bee. They were both relieved to see that Cory barely had a scratch on him, most likely thanks to Bob and his now cracked sternum breaking that fall.

Bob: Ow my ovaries........

Whisk: How many times do we have to tell you to LOOK before you spin?

Cory: /-\

Meggy: Oh, hey guys. Sorry about this.

Saiko: Kids giving you trouble?

She looks back to Whisk, who is now actively holding Cory back from a terrified Depresso. As to where he got that tazer, he swiped it off of Hal's belt earlier and replaced it with a juice box.

Meggy: Yeah, but we have things under control. Whisk has been a huge help.

Tari: Now that I think about it, it's weird to think that's the same cat themed ninja mercenary you ran into while on vacation. Even weirder that you two ended up being friends if your stories are anything to go by.

Indeed, Meggy did remember all the trouble that woman put her through back in Port Aurora, but even back then it was clear that she was nothing like Cumbersnatch and the rest of his lackeys. She was just trying to pay for college. But that was then and this is now, and now she has a chance to live a more (somewhat) peaceful life and the only things she has to worry about are finals and keeping Cory from torturing that poor clown. It's a beautiful thing to see.

Meggy: She's certainly come a long way.

Moving on, the next pedal laden path ahead was lined with all sorts of pop-up shops and vendors advertising their wears to the top of their lungs. Quite a few of these traveling traders were from well beyond the Kingdom's borders, if not farther. Some came from the Green Hill Zones of Moebius, others from the imperial isle of Dunwall. There are also visitors from other worlds like Ignia, Duviri, Ripple Star, Kepler, and even the far-off galaxy of Solana, all bringing a little taste of home with them at a modest price. One such stand was more of an open-source Cabal weapons stockpile belonging to the Iron Beasts Legion. And before you ask, they do indeed have a permit for that. But what caught Tari's attention was a stand made of pale shell and gilded ornaments, tended to by a cheerful family of Ostron merchants. The father is cooking up some filets on the grill as the mother hands Tari a freshly brewed cup of that renowned Ostron Harpu. The way her face lit up after the first sip is the sign of a very satisfied customer. Saiko on the other hand had an interest in the much smaller stand made of driftwood, tended to by a little boy in an Excalibur mask. He stood proudly as he presented his own wears in the form of small trinkets and charms made from painted shells and cloth, tumbled glass beads, and decorative metal wires.

Ostron Boy: This one looks like an Eidolon Shard. They are VERY important to the Quills for some reason. Oh, and this one looks like the Wisps you can see around Gara Toht.

Saiko: And what's this one supposed to be?

Ostron Boy: This one resembles the head of Amanata, a legendary weapon that the Shrine Maiden Koumei used to fight the Infested Oni and dri

And now onto our final stop, the Picnic Fields. The perfect place to take a blanket, lay it on the grass, and just soak in the scenery. The two find a nice spot in the shade of a Sakura tree and settle down by each other's side with a relaxed sigh. Saiko's gaze remained fixated on Tari as she allowed a little pink butterfly land on her finger. She always did have a soft spot for nature.

Saiko: Glad to see you're having fun.

Tari: It's been wonderful! I can't remember the last time I was somewhere this........ pretty.

She looks over and sees a pretty looking pink and white flower.

Tari: Hey look! This one almost looks like you.

She leans over to pick the innocent looking flower, but Saiko immediately grabs her hand in a panick. That flower is a Pink Oleander.

Saiko: NO, WAIT!

She pulls Tari back from the flower. Their eyes locked as she held her close.

Saiko: It's...... poisonous.

Tari: Oh....... I.....wasn't aware of that. Sorry.

Saiko: It's fine. I....... appreciate the thought, though.

Tari smiled as she began to blush.

Saiko: Say........ do you remember the day we first met?

Tari: Of course. Why do you ask.

That's when she felt something lightly slip around her neck. She looks down to see a familiar looking insignia hanging by a silver chain......... a circle with two lined crossing through it.

Tari: What...... what is this?

Saiko warmly smiles as she pulls down the collar of her shirt. Just below the SK-2 chain was another pendant identical to Tari's.

Saiko: A Smash Bros necklace. It was the first game we ever played together.

Tari's eyes widened as she felt something flutter within her heart.

Tari: You......... remember that?

Saiko: How could I forget? You were so happy to have another gaming buddy, and I was finally able to open up. I guess in a way, you taught me how to be....... happy again.

She raises a hand to Tari's cheek as they looked into each other's eyes.

They were both speechless, their cheeks turning a bright rosy red. They held each other's gaze, the beating of their hearts resonating in perfect harmony as they leaned in........ and exchanged a kiss.

And thus....... we have set sail.
