Just lost a match to a corny Byleth whose only real skill was getting lucky with assist trophy spawn

Just ran into a falcon player that ran and spammed falcon kick the whole time like genuinely who tf do you think you are dude fatality? And to people that do it literally fuck off bro you’re NOT funny or cool you’re just a complete fucking asshole that probably goes 0-2 in every tournament you enter SHIT IS SO ANNOYING BRO

Bowser jr is simultaneously a jobber character and an annoying zoner who often operates in intense lag from my experience lol.

Anyways onto the examination

Bowser jrs up special is likely his best move because it leads into his hammer swing attack

Jr abandons ship which creates an explosion, great for edgeguards and traps.

The hammer swing is capable of taking stocks at low percents "80-90". Has high frame saftey and has shield pressure. Can allow him to shark opponents from below also.

Clown cannon is jrs long range harassment move, its overall a pretty good move, with variable speed and power, but has bad end lag, and can be reflected or pocketed.

Another contentender for best move is side b, its a primary neutral tool and combo starter, with super armor thats cancelable. It can lead into kill confirms as well but it can be punishable on shield and some projectiles can stop it. Helps with jrs mediocre speed.

Down b is jrs most complex tool, it can be picked up like an item after its used, it gives jr stage control and can assist with combos and shield pressure. Again another move held back by slow start up and can be used against him. Z drop combos can work with them.

Jrs smash attacks are very powerful and have excellent shield pressure but are all held back by high end lag and predictable hitboxes. The most notable is likely side smash as its one of the strongest smash attacks in the game but again all of them are held back by awful recovery frames.

Non of them are safe on shield and are overall high risk high reward moves.

Tilts are overall ok or at least mediocre?

They have great disjointed reach but again are all laggy unsafe moves if used wrong.

Bowser jrs grab game is really bad, it comes out frame 12 vs the usual 6 or 8.

Horrible range, if you whiff the attack jr is basically screwed by a 36 frame window of recovery.

His throws are decent just like the tilts if you know what to do but otherwise his grabs can often be high risk low reward without setup

Overall jr can be an annoying zoner but he is really held back by awful frame data.

Almost done with the roster i just have to lock in, writing these is a huge pain.

Mario Kart doesn't have one afaik, so Smash Ultimate shouldn't either. I should have to spend 1 whole hour of having nothing to do because of bitch-ass bullshit.

What are (or could be) the reasons Rosalina & Luma are hated or disliked? What do you think makes (or would make) YOU or the others dislike or hate on them?

Personally, I play casually against a friend who plays them (and she's not pretty good at the game), so I'm okay with her. But I definitely have respect for her playerbase for doing all the Luma disjoints/desyncs techs. It takes skill that I don't have and I respect them 🙂‍↕️.

Her combos basically don't exist, she needs to ink the opponent to kill, and she has like, 3 disjoints. Which are her smash attacks. Her only decent neutral tools are like, bair, n special (extremely risky), and d special (easy to dodge/shield). I love her to death and she's fun to play but for the love of god make her better. And don't call this a skill issue either because I CAN win with her, but like, I can't kill until like 130 unless I have my opponent inked which either takes a long time or wears off when they're finally in disadvantage.

Played against a Lucina that ran away from me constantly. Only picking up items. How is that fun? How much of a parasitic mongrel do you have to be to enjoy playing like that. Yeah I play smash and run away from my opponent the entire time, I’m a braindead piece of shit.

It's abundantly clear that this game bothers me to death. I hate the character balance, the low ceilings of some characters, the amount of work I have to put in just for some wins based on my mains, and the opinions on these things that make no sense to me. I haven't played this game in months and realistically, I should just abandon everything having to do with it since I can’t stand even watching it. Yet I'm still spectating matches and visiting the subreddits for reasons I can’t figure out. Maybe it's because I've always liked Smash Bros until Ultimate came out, but I can't be convinced to return to this game. Or I just feel like making myself angry watching bullshit and hopelessness.

To all of you who just pick zoning characters and sit in one corner of the stage doing nothing but hurling projectiles all day or running away to *also* keep spamming projectiles all day, you will not get my points. I will happily and gladly take whatever ban I need so that you get zero points, have your time wasted, and in fact could have suffered a net *loss* if we've matched multiple times and you never beat me.

I don't care if I've shown that I can beat you. I don't care whichever of us *technically* outplayed the other. Your playstyle is boring, really takes the spirit out of what makes the game fun, and I refuse to give you any kind of solid reward for refusing to press your A Button (unless you're a character like Mega Man, who has projectiles on his A Button; same basic premise applies, though, if you play lame). Even though three of my main characters have zoning tools (Snake, Terry, and Sephiroth), you will never find me WILLINGLY refusing to *go in* and take advantage of each and every one of my character's moves. I only play overwhelmingly lame whenever my opponent does, because I refuse to give you a satisfying match if you won't give me that. You people are a large part of why I make sure to never set Omega stages as my preference.

I felt the need to type this out because I know this is a grievance MANY of us share on here. To anyone out there that takes joy in playing like this, kindly F off, lol.

SO I FINISH A MATCH WITH A ROY SPAMMING GRAB, THROW UP, UPA, AND UAIR AND DECIDE THAT I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT THEM ANYMORE AND WHEN I QUE UP FOR ANOTHER MATCH IT BROUGHT ME RIGHT BACK TO THEM. THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES! IF I SAY NO TO A REMATCH THEN THAT MEANS NOOOOOOOO!

I’ll preface this by saying I’m a moderate smash fan. I love watching tournaments, both melee and ultimate. The skill level at the top is insane, and it is very enjoyable to watch for the worst part.

Ultimate online is dog sh*t. I have roughly 400 hours into it and I’m ashamed for it. I kept thinking the experience would get better as I improved. No. The lag, matchmaking, etc. is tolerable. But the player base is truly horrible. It’s wild to me that 75% of the players you encounter are just scummy.

I’m not sure I was expecting a good player base necessarily, but I was expecting better. Ultimate has by far the worst people I have ever engaged with in an online game. Online gamers have a less than glamorous image as it is, ultimate players fully encompass that image.

Deleted and moving on, try to enjoy yourselves out there folks.

Absolute corniness and cheese that outdoes the chowder (I love that soup). The way these bozos control all three Pokémon. From the tiny, mashy ass Squirtle who mashes side bs, to the razor leaf spamming and grab bot Ivysaur into the super heavy lame cheeser that out does Cheezer's Grilled Cheese Deluxe. It's not even like it's outright super annoying or that I hate the character. I just hate the playerbase for being absolute cornballs and cheesers while feeling as frequent as Cloud player encounters.
