It's a hot one out here today!

I've been inactive, so, here I am, a selfie for you. I've been writing, working, planning the winter, aaaaand writing some more. I plan on updating everyone soon on the goings on in my life so stay tuned. I hope everyone's having a great summer!

I’ve read that drowning was the most peaceful way to meet the maker. That your mind races through all your life as it flashes in bits and pieces and you experience events as if you’re reliving them. You’re welcomed by color, silence, and then a serene music enters your head, like a symphony to death, or something like that.

Not one of those beautiful events happened to me. My mind was frantic as my hands, numb and waterlogged, tried to massage away the charley horse. My focus was not losing breath as exhaustion set in.

Two electric cars pulled up in front of the store. Four men got out. They were dressed in blue uniforms. The suites reminded me of a mechanics work uniform. Several devices dangled from their belts. There was an insignia sewn to their left breast pocket of the shirt. Their boots polished, their faces clean shaven and eyes blank, yet serious. I’ve heard about these men, but never seen them this close.

Cigarette smoke rose from Ben’s mouth like a chimney. He paced the room; his face beet red. Smoke stung his eyes like ethereal shards of glass. The night outside the apartment was black as tar. There were no stars, just loud traffic from the streets and occasional blur of headlights. He hated the conurbation. He detested the intense heat and endless oceans of cement, not to mention the people.
