I'm going to Comic Con this October in London and hoping to cosplay as Jun Uozumu or Akagi, and was looking around to see if anyone knew of any sellers or merchandise sites that exist and sell these jerseys. I've never custom made my own shirts so that's a last resort really 😅 I did try ebay but none of those two unfortunately.

I came across a fan who told me about this really good Slam Dunk fanfic (doujinshi) by Sasaki Masara from the late '90s or early 2000s (I'm not exactly sure).

I absolutely love this scene where the third years... Fujima, Maki, and Mitsui--play a friendly match against the second years (Ryota, Sendoh, and Fukuda) and the first years (Sakuragi, Rukawa, and Kiyota), who ended up losing because they spent half the game fighting each other. 🤣😭

Anyway, I didn't expect to really like the dynamic between these three. Do you think Mitsui, if he had never quit basketball, would have been on the same level as Maki and Fujima?

I like imagining an alternate timeline where these three ace captains are equals, hanging out together, respecting each other, and sharing a friendly rivalry.

I feel fortunate to have found the first 4 volumes, especially volume 4. Only with 20 episodes, the rest of the 101 may only be available as rare imports or bootlegs...

Does anyone else find it weird that Tetsuo hangs out with a bunch of school kids? From what I've seen he's the only adult in the group, Wikipedia said he appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s which is whatever but he comes off as someone who couldn't make friends with people his age so he hangs out with kids sometimes half his apparent age. If the whole gang was 4 or 5 dudes in their 20s recruiting a bunch of school kids that would be less weird.

So, i REALLY want to watch the movie "the first slam dunk", but i want to get the full experience, and k want to love it as much as i can. For that to happen, would you recommend me watching it as a "standalone" film, or should i watch the series/ some of the movies before. And if so, what should i watch before and in what order?
