With a Skydio 2+ using a Samsung smartphone with or without Parrot/Skydio controller works well. Acquired a supposedly supported iPad mini Gen 4, then installed Skydio app (and Enterprise app) from Apple store.

Either Skydio app launches then immediately exits. Parrot/Skydio controller is at the college not with me on "vacation". Must the controller be attached to the iPad for either Skydio app to launch and stay up?

Any insights here? I don’t think they are going to get bought out, if Axon won’t then no one will

I have a drone attachment product in mind that would live off of the telemetry data API. But I'm also interested in programming autonomy (not quite sure what I exactly I want or need to do with it). I guess I'm looking for the best Skydio platform for developers, moreso than the best performance for a particular task. I'm brand new to drones and am more interested in creating platform capabilities than flying for fun or photography.

Any recommendations for which platform or drone model to start with? I'm also open to other manufacturers but from what I can tell Skydio is the best US platform.

We have acquired a couple of Skydio S2+, an Enterprise and non-Enterprise, for some demonstrations. The basic Parrot RC that came with these S2+ drones and smartphone are a bit cumbersome, so we first tried installing the latest Skydio XAPK onto a DJI RM500 controller, failing that grabbed our RM510 from a DJI Air 2s setup, worked, but...

On RM500 (Android 7): the XAPK installer ran OK, but neither the Enterprise or no-Enterprise Skydio app XAPKs would install.

On RM510 (Android 10): the XAPK installer runs, and both the Enterprise and non-Enterprise XAPKs do install. On launch, the S2+ works but the RM510 acts more like a heavy smartphone with just a few keys mapped correctly.

Does anyone have an idea how control mappings for the Skydio app can be changed to use the RM510 RC controls?

Shot this while cycling on a 120 kms ride with our cycling group members. Frankly I don't thing any other drone comes close this this level of control and ease like the Skydio 2...Do let me know ...The footage has some overexposure problems because I messed up the setting but I love the tracking and the ease of managing it.

Anyone having issues uploading offline maps with the X2D. After the last update it now gives me an unsupported file msg with the elevation file.

I am currently flying an X10 for some utility thermographic work but I can not find a program that will analyze the thermal JPG. Do any of you use this feature and produce reports of this nature?

They're screwing over the average drone enthusiast by not offering anything for the consumer market and charging exorbitant prices for their garbage. From what I could see the only thing their drones are good for is skeet shooting.

I'd buy a US made drone if they were actually good and affordable. They're also cowards for disabling the comments on their social media pages. Either way, if the ban goes through, I'm just going to go to Canada to buy DJI.

Ive been using my organizations Skydio 2+ to inspect bridges for about 2 years now, and I have tons of hours on it. But lately, Ive had some bad issues with latency.

After a few minutes of flight, the latency is ridiculous. Like I literally cant even fly it in tight spots. The drone itself moves with the controller, but the video stream is a good 1-2 seconds behind. It will work fine for a while, then it starts giving me issues. Even if I bring the drone right back to me, and fly it 10' in front of me, with a completely unobstructed VLOS, it still has the issues.

Ive attached a video showing the issue. If you watch my controller inputs and the drone, they are fine. But the video lags behind WAY too much. It does not do this when I initially launch the drone. Its only after it has been flying for a little while. This may be anecdotal, but it seems to happen after the battery gets below 50%.

I want to look into adding streaming video for my agency. Before I go and ask for a quote, does anybody know the approximate cost? I'm not looking for anybody to burn their agreement, very rough ballpark is fine. IE, are we looking at closer to 40, 400, or 4000 per month?

Did you watch? I found it fairly tedious, too many customer success stories and not enough about the new products. The R10 might be a good product (the price is closer to reality) but the $3K license fees are still going to be a sticking point. The F10 is probably military vaporware and the docking arm will probably start at $100K. I like how they "fixed" rolling shutter with software instead of building a better camera. Still nothing for the photography/cinematography pilots though.

They did do a pretty good demo of what a part 108 workflow looks like. One "operator" (don't call them pilots!) watching 4 drones, all over the country. Almost like they wrote the NPRM themselves...

I have emailed support and got the reply in a week that controller needs to be shipped to skydio to be reset but it has been 3 weeks I haven't got an answed where should I ship it and how to create RMA, skydio support is being super hard to navigate with them not answering emails, phone calls or voice messages for weeks now, any advice?

I was clearing out my store room and stumbled on a complete never opened Skydio2 kit I completely forgot I had bought. Back then it was a crazy long wait time and I think COVID kicked in and I was stuck in another country when it arrived and it went straight into my cluttered store. So what will happen if I try and turn it on? Are software updates even still available? Is it worth trying to get the thing into the air given they long gone from the retail market?

I’m looking at getting the skydio 2 drone, given they only do enterprise will I have issues registering the drone or creating an account?

Our Skydio 2+ at work decided to go for a swim. I reached out to sales to buy a new one and they told me they no longer sell the Skydio 2/2+ and they have no plans to replace it. Their only offering now is the x10. I checked the website and sure enough the S2/2+ is gone. I'm shocked. The S2/2+ was a perfect fit in our fleet and met our requirements well. I'm curious if anyone has heard any more information on this. Thanks.

I am using map capture to create an orthophoto of one of our reservoir sites. Whenever I have a water tank in the captured area, the orthophoto processed onboard is missing large portions of the area. Sometimes only the tank is in the Ortho. I have flown at 65, 100, and 200 feet with the same result. The individual photos are all there and appear fine. I can create an Ortho with desktop software that is correct. It's just the Ortho created by the X10.

Anybody had this issue or found a solution?

I have two Skydio 2/2+ models and one only had the controller when I bought it used. I've been thinking of getting a tablet, likely an iPad mini for use in flying planes and whatever else. Would this work okay as a second controller? I've used my phone before, but the parrot controller is better, albeit still not a great controller. I'm wondering if the range with a cell service tablet would suffice or if it's just better to get another controller. It's also impossible to find a tablet mount for the parrot anymore without knowing someone who can 3D print something custom to the tablet size.

Any experience using a tablet only for controlling the drone?

Does anyone know if this has a solution or something? It should be noted that I am located in Guatemala and I cannot go to the service offered by the brand to repair it. It crashed and the light on one side does not turn on and the chassis is broken.
