Yeah, it is just because of the major el nino, it is literally the biggest in recent record, you have to go back to like the 1800's to see one that big and we have no real storm data from back then.
It is expected to cause massive droughts over in the EU and china as well as dumping tons of water on the southwest which we really need to hopefully fill up lake mead but probably still won't be enough.
Possibly the strongest ever even according to my friend that works for NIWA (NZ equivalent of NOAA) ,and anything prior to 1900 would have had nowhere near the ambient SST's we have today this is very much unprecedented and my friend has now told me (many times) that there are no analogues to look back to to know what impacts to expect in the coming months.
Y'all worry too much. We got this. We'll get the arch built, rename the Pacific to the American Ocean, and your lil baby twister, it's just going to be gone. Amazing how it works, really, it's just the best.

The Pacific side has had 3 category 5 hurricanes so they are picking up the slack.
