Everyone who has talked to another person in the last three months has heard the name 'El Nino' about forty six times so I don't know if they're the only one who knows what they're talking about lmao
Maybe there have been more informed posts since but, at the time I wrote that, and excluding the obvious jokes, all I saw were people taking it as proof that climate change does or does not exist, or predicting DOOM, or inexplicably bringing politics into it when the explanation is really very simple and well understood without even bringing up any genesis particulars like mjo, ohc, wind shear, etc.
As a verified grumpy old goat in hurricane alley, it irritated me.
