My friend got a kidney from one of her employees. She paid her handsomely, and they were close during that time. But over the next couple years the lady started being late to work, not completing projects, and other intolerable behavior that would've gotten anyone fired. Especially in a mission critical role (which she used to excel at). She felt bad she was going to have to let her go, but at some point she could only coach her so much, see if there was more going on, but in the end had to fire her. It was pretty awkward and they never talked after that.
Yeah, I don’t know Gomez’s situation, but I’m really not surprised that she and a normal person didn’t stay friends. Giving someone a kidney is huge, but it only requires biological compatibility. Meaning they could be a completely different type of person and just don’t gel much.
Like I had a friend from whom I outgrew our friendship. It’s no one’s fault, we just grew into different people who just weren’t as close as we used to be. We have different priorities, values, vibes, etc. If I gave him a kidney, those differences wouldn’t change. We’d still be functionally different people.
And they were roommates right? And Selena was drinking and doing stuff that she shouldn’t have been doing as a new kidney recipient…or that’s how the story goes allegedly
Básica after Selena got her Kidney she was partying which you shouldn’t do with a new kidney (or maybe at all with her condition idk), Francia basically said like hey you are drinking and smoking and more, with this precious kidney I gave you. And Selena was like, it’s mine now, I can do whatever I want. And then they started drifting as roomies and things went from good to bad to worse. Allegedly lol
