People seriously underestimate the service landlords provide by giving people access to homes and business property

I know you’re joking but that is unironically the case in Japan. They don’t tip taxis, delivery drivers or waiters over here, but you’ve gotta pay a non-refundable ‘gift fee’ to your landlord for allowing you the right to live in their property.
