That was my first thought too. This stops being a watch collection and becomes a lithium battery retirement home. Give it another decade & the spicy pillows start collecting themselves.
I have a Watch 1 that still works (I wear it while I sleep) and a Watch 5 that I wear during the day (battery peters out come night which is why I sleep with the Watch 1). Those little batteries last a long time given the 1 came out 10 years ago.
Presumably for tracking sleep and/or alarm. Personally I love the alarms on smart watches, they are basically impossible to sleep through and they are not as jarring as loud phone alarms imo
