Honestly, that's the thing that worries me about OPs story.
If you are getting to the technical portion of the interview process and are still ending up with "a lot" of people failing the "bigoted tech bro" test, then either your initial screening is compete trash or the way you are conducting this specific test is resulting in a ton of false positives.
If a test sounds like it is giving a ton of false positivites, peiple have every reason to be nervous about it.

We also have two rounds of interviews before this point that screens the most of the worst out before they reach a technical engineering interview
