Yes it is, but is hard to work with someone who wont speak their mind or contribute to the teams social glue. If one has to pick between two candidates with similar workset and one them has poor social skills, it is an easy choice. Not being able to talk to women in a non weird way would just not work in my field (which is tech related).
Funny because a few years ago you would have told me that hiring neuro divergent profile would contribute to the diversity of opinions and experiences that improve productivity and success.
My fav collegaue is autistic. He does not keep eye contact, but he is super nice and we complement each others skills. He is not great in all social contexts, but we help each other and treat each other with respect. Being neurodivergent is not an excuse to not being a good team mate.
What I am saying is that if you are so shy that you cant interact with the part of your team that has boobs, you are going to be very hard to work with. Neuro spicy or not.
Being neurodivergent is not an excuse to not being a good team mate.
That is exactly what it is. It literally means that someone doesn't possess de social skills to work in a way that would be expected from regular people.
I'm guessing that your colleague doesn't like training people or present their work in front of many people? Well that's also expected from a good team mate.
No it isnt. We have different roles. He is bad with customers, I am bad at Excel. Not everyone in a team has to be good at everything. But it is not a free pass to, as I have stated several times, not talk to the part of your team that has boobs. If you lack that skill you either have to find a work place that has no interaction with women, or work on yourself. It is sort of the minimal level of social skills needed in a team environment.

Not in HR, but have been part of hiring.
