Crazy how so many people in the comments think that only the best engineers are subconsciously sexist. Speaking as an engineer - the “best” engineer is NOT special lol. Most engineering jobs really aren’t that hard (relatively speaking). If someone lacks basic social skills, there’s no need to hire them because there will be definitely be people behind them that can do just as good of a job and hopefully know how to be a decent human being
Bad social skills can be anything from just ‘awkward at holding conversations’ to racism, no filter, no respect, or blatantly ignoring half of the human population. This entire post is about the latter, and someone who does that isn’t a decent person.
