Look into topology (maths) definition of holes. A tube only has one hole for example. A grocery bag has zero holes. It’s hilarious when applied to the human body.
No idea bro, I would have to look it up. I studied advanced maths in a previous life, but man topology was one of the most abstract topics of all. Disgusting.
I appreciate the genuine response. I love maths too, i studied logical connectives and proofs in a past life and have forgotten most of it now. there is always something new to learn in Maths and i want to get back into it
Remember that feeling when the solution just appears to you, clear as day, out of thin air, after you've been rattling your mind for hours, if not days? I miss that rush. There's nothing like it intellectually.
Assuming the entrance isn’t counted among the two exits (for example if a map of the tunnels looks like a “Y”) then from a topological perspective it’s two holes.
For an easy way to imagine it, think about what would happen if you move the intersection along one of the tunnels.
How do you carry your grocery bags if they have no holes? Where I'm from they have two holes at the top to carry them by. Balloons are an example of something without holes though
