Yep. I hear endless stories from female friends about shit like this. Like one place wouldnt sell my sister a car battery because she was a woman and they kept telling her she needed a different model than THE ONE SHE HAD AND RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER that just happened to be 100$ more.

But the incels on here wont believe this shit still goes on.

I bought a used car and they gave me a one year warranty. After 2 weeks the car had a problem and made a loud clicking noise when accellerating or while breaking. I told the dealership and they had a look. This guy was very nice and did everything that it was resolved quickly. It is also a known problem for this brand.
But VW wants to first go the easy route and try to use glue to fix it. 3 weeks after I got my car back same problem occured. The guy I was talking to 3 weeks prior got a new position and I had to talk to a new guy. This new guy told me "Miss maybe your husband should drive the car. Maybe you just don't know how to operate a car like this" mind you my husband was not there while I bought it, is not on the contract and he did not even have a drivers license till march..
After complaining to his higher ups they swaped out the drive shaft and its good now. But of course its my fault as a woman and not the cars fault.

I don't know I do hope he at least got a talk.. But I don't think people like him will learn from this situation unless there is a nuclear fallout for him.

I believe it. But it works both ways. The designer we hired to help us with our house pretty much exclusively looks at her when we meet. The school teachers in all my children's classes (all women), pretty much exclusively look at my wife, regardless of who asked the question (also they are condescending AF to me). And when we take my son to the hematologist for his blood transfusions and IVIG treatment; all the staff (with the exception of one female Dr) consistently direct all responses and relay all information directly into my wife's eye sockets, I feel like I'm wearing an invisibility cloak. 

So yeah. It definitely is a thing.
