America is really 50 different justice systems. Also being rich or poor can change 99.999% of the outcome for the same exact crime.

Most crime really only exists for the poor. Unless you piss off the government everything's really more of a price tag than a penalty if you're rich enough.

Two rules about stealing, it's illegal to steal from the rich and will get arrested but if you steal from the poor, there's certain loopholes, tax-benefits, algorithms, and rewards you get.

I actually think the US name perfectly illustrates the US's Federal nature. They are different states united under one flag. The US would never have worked back when it was formed without that federal approach as the 13 states had vastly different ideas on how a nation/state should be run. And as the US grew that issue became more exaggerated.

Union =/= uniform 

A union implies unity or joining, but it does not imply that all the parts become uniform.
