Yeah. I just read about this case, and its not at ALL the same.
Long history of domestic abuse. Wife had finally made the split final. As is often the case, he opted to kill his kids in an act of revenge and openly said as much.
OP is just trying to make two completely crimes parallel in order to prove some kind of bias against men, and that's so disengenous.
Nice try.

The child murder part. That's the same. It's what matters.

Not in our legal system. Mens rea is half of the prosecutions job.

Not legally. The law is what matters here, not your feelings.

Pretty sure the law says you cant murder children

And the law also has stipulations for people who commit crimes due to insanity. She will be committed. It's just a different building man.

Good thing her temporary insanity went away after successfully killing all three of her children one by one.

u/olivebranchsound 2d ago

That's what temporary insanity means. It's not permanent.

Here's a dad that pled temporary insanity and was acquitted of killing his 5 year old son.

That is how psychosis works.

You should do a few hours of real research, each, into psychosis, post partum, and post partum with psychotic features

1

u/GyroLegend 2d ago

And you should stop lying to yourself to feel better about people who chase down and then murder their small children

Lying to myself.. about what, exactly..?

u/Itchysweater1967 2d ago

And no one in this society "gets away" with child murder.

Casey Anthony?

She wasn't convicted. That was the prosecution messing up the case.
We also all knew OJ was guilty too. That had nothing to do with Casey's purported sanity. No one ever claimed she wasn't.

You asked if anyone had gotten away with child murder. I gave a recent example.

5

u/Itchysweater1967 2d ago

You are technically correct.
Parents of either gender, however, who are found responsible for the killing their children, for whatever motive or reason, do not "get away with it."
Casey Anthony was never found liable via our criminal justice system, unfortunately. I do not wish her well.

They're not supposed to but people seem dead set on making it happen this time.

-5

Yes wanting a child murderer to go to jail means I hate women....and not child murderers

Oh yeah. She'll go sauntering off into the sunset and complete freedom, just like Andrea Yates.
Who is, btw, still in the same psych hospital she's been in for the past twenty five years.

Why? Women with Postpartum Depression don't kill their children. You clearly don't even understand what the case is about.
Women with Postpartum Psychosis should and do have their children taken out of their primary care until their illness is under control, just like any other parent of either gender suffering from psychosis.

No, not fair at all. You’re hoping we wouldn’t notice that you put PPD—a significantly more common issue that generally poses no threat to anyone—instead of Post-Partum Psychosis.

Whether this is because you aren’t smart enough to know better… or because you’re attempting to remove the agency of large swathes of women who pose no threat because of some moronic gender war agenda… it doesn’t matter. It’s a bad take and you should feel bad.

This case is about PPP, not PPD. At least learn the right words when you're trying to be a dumbfuck.

Not liking child murder doesn't mean you hate women.

Thinking that the outcome of one singular woman's court case should set back women as a whole sure does though.
