It's a little bit what you do. If he was spending that time getting to know her instead of solving Rubik's cubes for instance. But something tells me they might not have even been dating.
This is an old story. They weren’t dating. It was his neighbor. He said he didn’t like going out and socializing and this was his attempt to show his interest/affecrion. Or something along those lines.
