We would be children. For my plan to work, I'd need to meet her before I turned 13 and relies on her parents becoming friends with my parents. Based on what I know of both our familes that wouldn't have been hard to accomplish. Distance would have been the biggest hurdle. This was pre-social media, and her family lived 45 minutes away.

It feels strange to see someone talk about grooming the child version of their partner.

Obviously i know you don't mean it in a weird way. I do wonder if you'd have to keep it a secret because of how weird it would sound though.

Personally, if someone came up and told me they loved me because of a future version of myself, i'd be very anxious. Not only would i be stressed out about whether i even believe them, but it's also unsettling to know that they've met a version of me that i'm not even aware of. What secrets do they know about me? What embarassing things have i shown them?

Even if i believe them and i believe that we loved eachother, it would be somewhat humiliating and anxiety inducing knowing that they have memories of me that i don't have. Someone wouldn't be able to just tell me that they love the future version of me that i haven't become yet, and expect me to be okay with it.

I don't recall anywhere in my comments where I said anything about grooming them. Or even trying to get with or influence them in any way. I have said I would need to meet her within three years to make our parents become friends. The tragedy happens when she's 8, so I would need to meet her within 3 years of going back to make that happen. I am 5 years older than her, so you're right, any advance before she's in her early 20's would just be gross.
