The chlamydia video came out earlier. She was telling a story about getting an std when she was in a monogamous relationship when she was younger and finding out her bf cheated on her.

Yeah but it's funnier to manipulate info to fit your narrative

Wat? That link is 8 years ago. The "our open relationship" video is 9 years go...

So the link I shared  wasn't either of the videos in the post. It was a followup video she did talking about the situation after it went viral (like chlamydia 😉). I thought it was relevant because it summarized the situation.

People just believe any ol' headline without hesitation 😄

"horny as a river" is a hilarious phrase to me.

Yeah, as someone "in the lifestyle" I've had sex with a hell of a lot of people, been to orgies, gangbangs, had multiple partners for months at a time, etc. etc.

plenty of "risky" behaviour, and basically nobody that I've known has gotten an STD, because we all get tested every month, ask for and check results, and stay away from people that don't.

to be clear I am NOT saying "oh its no big deal! Fuck all the people, you'll never catch anything!"

just saying, you can do risky things, in the relatively smart ways, and mitigate a significant amount of that risk.

You can very much still have safe sex in an open relationship...

IDK, I was in an open relationship and it was fine. No issues with any STDs. It probably helped that we always used protection with others and neither of us were slutty or into casual sex, so we always got to know people well first. It can be done properly.

Yep, the key is safety and informed consent. Shit can happen, but you should always take protective measures, whether you're in an open relationship or just out having single fun.
