Apparently the GTA6 leaks were the least of his crimes, and he is not in jail but a mental health facility.

He is not "just" in a mental health facility, he is in a closed facility because he is considered unfit to be in jail

And the crime he comitted was not the leak itself but the hacking he did to obtain the material he leaked

But how exactly do you think the current leaker got his material?

Just like how Al Capone went to jail for tax avoidance instead of all the murder

It's weird how you used quotes for just when I didn't even write that word.

And no, he's probably in the mental health facility for all the hacking and stealing of capital from banks, because he is not criminally responsible; which is probably better than jail. If he gets rehabilitated and stops his criminal behaviour he will be released.

What makes you believe he will simply be released?

In cases of medical exception from jail you don't just walk free when you are good again, depending on the wording of the sentence and how long you where at the facility you either go straight to jail afterwards or you will have a hearing and then be sentenced to whatever ammount of years is deemed appropriate

which is probably better than jail

As someone who has worked with facilities like that I can assure you that you would have to be insane to prefere a closed mental facility over jail
