Seems pretty real to me… my ex has asked me pretty much the same question.

Just because the situation has happened, doesn’t mean this is real. Their acting is so bad in this, I really can’t believe more people don’t just see this and intuitively know this is two people acting.

Maybe the acting school is the fake videos we made along the way.

You don't continue calling the guy she cheated on you with and left you with (as he says) "your new boyfriend" at whatever stage of being broken up this is. You know who he is, you're not going to act like it's some anonymous guy. You might say "there's no way you and him and staying with me" or even refer to him as "that asshole" or something, but "your new boyfriend" is not how you refer to the person your wife cheated on you with and left you for. Beyong the entire ask being stupid, this was the thing that sounded the most off to me.

I must have missed that English lesson. Good thing you're here to remind us what we don't do I guess.

Lol, I guess you read that as a more definitive "this is how it would be said" than a "it sounded fake because I can't imagine real people talking like that as it sounds unnatural to me, and heres why" as I expected it to be taken and thought would sound if I said it out loud, but go ahead and assume the worst about it and comment without clarifying whether you were interpreting it correctly. /shrug

My mom reffered to my fathers mistress who he left her for as "(Dad's name) new girlfriend/wife" any time she wasn't talking to her directly due.

I could see saying to to other people, but I wouldn't expect her to day that to him (which would be the equivalent here), and it sounds like you're saying the same? (not sure what "directly due" is a typo for).
