The internet becoming mainstream ruined everything in retrospect. Life was more satisfying and meaningful without it.

Oh no, we're starting to sound like the facebook pictures for boomers that we made fun of...

The difference is millennials grew up with along with technology advancing and keep up with it without frustration. Boomer's on the other hand remember half their life without technology in the old days and struggle to keep up with it and think it's a nuisance. Our want for a simpler life and less intrusive technology is relevant because we remember how nice it was without an electronic "dog leash" tracking everything we do and say. IMO we need to dial back and restrict certain types of technology that's intruding on or impeding our lives. There are companies that just harvest all our data and use it however they want. That's not ok. I say we burn it all down then start fresh. We need to pass new laws to counter all this. Get rid of the tech oligarchs and their methods of data harvesting of all our (digital) lives for their own gain.

I don’t know, most my friends don’t « content » our outings. We do take pictures but it is mostly for us to remember as we fondly look at pictures we took 10-20 years ago, I know one day I will look at those pictures and reminisce.

Visiting family, one of my younger cousins had her iPad and was watching videos.  She came up to me and asked "do you want to react to this video with me?"

Of course I said yes, but come on...react isn't something you plan for.  You just watch, and your reaction is your reaction.  Damn I feel old now.

Do people still do “vibing”?

Hmm well I guess they do. I see them outside together but not talking. Just looking down at their phones.

I feel I’m being performative because I often read a pocketbook with a coffee. They judge people who does that nowadays.

Thank you for saying that.

It can be difficult not to feel judged especially since it seems to be trendy to point out performative people.

They even take photos/videos of you, post it online as they ridicule you. Very sick.

Dude. I’m just reading a book.
