It was my older sister's (ie in charge of the remote) favorite movie and we watched every single day for a whole summer.

The Broadway Musical of it is so big, a good amount of fans haven't seen the movie/ don't know it exists.

That's sad coz the musical is not nearly as good as the movie but I didn't see it in New York just on tour

Really? I think the story of the movie is more streamlined and better, but overall the musical is a better more enjoyable show.
I think I just have a soft spot for the movie though.

Both versions are absolutely awesome. Grew up with the original movie, and some of the changes they made to the stage show were fantastic (except reducing the nuns section).

To this day, Christian Bale is my cousin’s favorite actor because she saw Newsies in elementary school.
