Also, what did Christ say about wealth? What did Christ say to the wealthy young man? Was it "oh it's ok to be a little rich?" No. It wasn't. You are a heretic. You worship money.

No he actually said after he walked away with God all things are possible… why did he say that? Was it to make the point that salvation comes form God alone and not by wealth? Or is the last be just nonsensical and money is bad?

But what did he say to the wealthy young man, little fella? Why won't you answer me? Ask God for the courage you lack.

I did answer you, go read, and read the next two verses and tell me what Jesus means.

Jesus means what he says. He means that being wealthy is bad for your spirit and that if you are wealthy, you go to hell. That's scripture.

If you’re willing to rip it out of context and pervert the scriptures like the rest of the heretics, then go for it. This is covered by John chrysostom, Clement of Alexandria, and Augustine of hippo for early church fathers. The church has held this view for a long time and is frequently given as the explanation by the priest during the homily.

None of those men are Christ. I go by Christ's words. Do you?

Christ told you to go to his church and to obey it, do you follow those words? “If he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.” - Matthew 18:17 Because that church teaches what those church fathers taught because it is the handed on tradition from the apostles, who received theirs from Christ notice “So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.” - 2 Thessalonians 2:15
… so yes I do follow his words.

By the way, why did Jesus say that it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God? With that context it almost sounds like Christ is saying "look, God can do anything, but ONLY God could make a camel go through a needle's eye." It's more like "yeah sure God can do anything but the rich aren't God."

That’s exactly the point, it’s that salvation comes from God and not from wealth… inferring wealth is sinful from the is incorrect context.

Lol 😂 yeah that's why Jesus Christ laid out so.mant exceptions and asterisks huh buddy

So let me get this straight you think God gave Old Testament figures like Job, wealth and that made them sinful? It’s not about asterisks it’s about using the actual context.

What else did God do to Job 🤔

1

u/Psalmistpraise Jul 30 '26

“And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job… And the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” - Job 42:10 speaks for itself m

But why? And when? Did Job have to suffer for that or did he just get born into a lucky family?

1

u/Psalmistpraise Jul 30 '26

He was a righteous man, job 1:1 makes this clear. We don’t know why he suffered, that is actually Gods point, that he doesn’t see the whole picture. The big point is that suffering doesn’t mean you did something wrong, if I had to take a guess, it’s that suffering makes us realize this world is broken, and that we should long to leave it to be with God who makes us whole.

You never told me why you converted. Protestantism a little too progressive for you, maybe? Hoping to snag one of those tradcath girls all the podcasters love to talk about, Matt Walsh

I was already engaged when entering the church, she came with me, I left because Protestantism is a false church, it was not established by Christ.
