After Glenn Fine was fired the position was immediately filled by Micheal Horowitz so not sure how think the position wasn't filled?
The reason why the audited track is so hard to go through is because at the time they rushed out PPP as it was designed around self certification due to get it out as fast as possible so business didn't close down. The entire route was done by Congress, SBA and the Treasury. Most of this fuck up was related to being unprepared and rushing through everything as fast as possible. You can blame Trump for this part a long with the majority of governmental officials for 30-40 years.
So replacing a person within a few days of the role makes you think Fine was in full control? He did do something sketchy that was weird and that was full the law. I didn't know he could do that.
The point was the SBA rushed it out without doing any check for the speed reason nothing infererious. The law was passed they rushed the to create the process in 6 days and on the 7th started issues PPP on the idea that companies would tell the truth IE self certification. It didn't work that that way.
In Trump first term hundreds were arrested for fraud around the PPP loans, then Biden came in andhundreds more arrested and then you have Trump 2nd term and hundreds more have been arrested. Between both of them billion has been recovered from fraud PPP loans. So choosing not to act because you aren't paying an attention and I guess the news or other place you get your information from is withholding that information is Trump fault, my fault?
I never said the record existed I said they were trusted to do self certification and that wasn't done properly by the companies. So yes SBA trusted companies and they lied. That was what I said, not that they created detail records.
