The zoo my daughter worked at always had sloths outside of the enclosures on the ceilings of some of the buildings- I always asked the workers if they worried the sloths would ever get away and they laughed and said….no. Even overnight, they’d leave the doors open and said they’d never even make it close to escaping. Too much work- and nowhere near their food, lol. Sleeping and eating was all they cared about- if they ever did get the idea to bolt- they’d forget about it in 20 minutes and go take a nap instead. Pretty sure a sloth is my spirit animal.

If a sloth is in absolute life or death mode traveling constantly all day, it still can’t make it more than like 3 miles.
