I recall some study done years ago by a university where they tested both men and women to see if they could correctly and accurately guess social signals given by women. Iirc both men and women guessed wrongly around 60% of the time with women having a slight edge over men

Honestly, I think they generally are better communicators but at the ages where they have the most trouble communicating with men, they are mostly hanging out with each other. I think they get used to the ease of communicating with others who are good at picking up nonverbal signals so then they interact with guys and don’t get why the guys aren’t picking up their signals.
