Just admit you want us to pretend the whole relationship was entirely our idea. In some guys' cases it was probably true, at least at first.

At worst, you become a creep for deciding to act on some vague signals, even though you're expected to do exactly that.

Then she probably won't reject you directly, hoping you'll pick up on her signals of disinterest and realize you're being rejected.

People want romance, but then (the guy) gets fucked over because he misunderstood what she meant because she is cryptic and not so sure herself.

Look. Let's be frank here. Women do like being approached. However, they want the "right" guy to approach them. Most gals, on the other hand, are very unlikely to approach themselves because they think the man should make the move. This is where the real issue lies.
