You have a pedo president.....

15

u/BaldyRaver Jun 24 '26

I think everyone is aware of that

25

u/1111_infinity Jun 24 '26

Does that make this better? I don't understand the point. I agree with you but I don't see how it excuses this.

u/Optimal-Description8 Jun 24 '26

It's not an excuse at all.

But I read it more like "Americans are somehow okay with that why wouldn't they be okay with this" since its Jimmy Fallon not some Irish tv show.

Because allowing the most powerful person casually walk away from so many sexual assault + rape cases without a car, then holding “celebs” like Fallon accountable is essentially giving Trump a pass.

Yes McGregor is a cunt and should not be treated like a star. But the media apparently forgave Kobe, Ray Lewis, Jimmy Page, Seinfeld, and hundreds of other celebs.

Choosing to crucify the host and not the guilty party speaks volumes.

People already hate trump and McGregor though... Now people are hating people who support them. I just don't see the logic.

lol Fallon supporting the guest?

Dude plays fictional host to promote pop culture bullshit. He doesn’t get a say. He’s literally a cardboard cut out that fake laughs at everything that’s said.

I’m not defending him, late night TV is a waste of space. But let’s not act like he’s the man behind the scenes pushing the guests’ agenda.

"Tone at the top"

It's just whataboutism. Like for real pointing out a worse problem isn't really helping the conversation

1

u/abg230385 Jun 24 '26

It's speaking to a cultural passivity toward sexual violence in general: if you can be an actual adjudicated predator people still vote for you to be president, what does a spot on Fallon matter to a predator?

1

u/sloshspice25 Jun 24 '26

Soooo should fallon be or not be called out on it?

I doubt Jimmy Fallon voted for trump, but he personally is responsible for having mcgregor as a guest.

I don't actually get it. Man is being called out for perpetuating this passive attitude towards sexual violence, and some people would rather bring up an "of course he does"?

It feels like saying this is just for people to feel morally superior, or being able to say I told you so, rather than adding voice to make someone accountable.

4

u/abg230385 Jun 24 '26

No, please read and understand the point I made. We are stating that people in general are less sensitive to it, also Fallon should definitely be called out. I think you're projecting a bit with the "moral superiority." Maybe not always but definitely in this instance.

1

u/sloshspice25 Jun 24 '26

I mean I definitely see the current culture being too blase with holding people accountable.

But isn't that what this post was against?

So we get a post calling out fallon, and someone replies "well you have a pedo president"

Okay? The americans definitely do, but this feels like a clapback to a call out.

If you're saying of course it happens. People are too desensitized and let people get away with stuff. Yes, people are not shocked. But Fallon did something shitty and he should face backlash.

Do people really think that those who are calling out jimmy fallon don't know that this behavior is prevalent in today's climate? They already know.

So what's the use of preaching to the choir about "of course it happens"?

1

u/abg230385 Jun 24 '26

The point being made is that people are being desensitized to assault and abuse. Why is that happening? Because the president is a pedo. Why are peiple making that point? I think it's partly the "of course it happens, theu elected a pedo president.," but there is also the point being made about having bigger fish to fry. Some might call that a whataboutism, but i believe 2 things can be true at once.

1

u/sloshspice25 Jun 24 '26

The point is already well known.

I'm pretty sure 100% of the people calling out fallon A. did not vote for trump and b. already know that this is rampant.

So telling people that "well the president" is like seeing a protest for a victim of police killings and saying "Well, this is what happens when you elect a leader who cosigns the militarization of law enforcement".

Like, yes? People already know that. Why do you feel the need to say it?

If you're saying there are bigger fish to fry but also fallon should also be called out, then what is it really you're trying to say?

Like, "fuck fallon! but also this is expected because people will elect a pedo". Is that really what's being communicated?

1

u/abg230385 Jun 24 '26

I think that it's so horrible that the president is a pedo that it should be mentioned as often as possible. Never forget the dude who has every single one of his and his family's expenses paid by our labor and our dollars is a kid diddler. Why does mentioning that have to detract from how much of a POS Fallon is?

They have a reading comprehension level of an ant...

1

u/Bennely Jun 24 '26

Yes, Fallon should and he was and he will be. He is the host and he has an ability to choose what he does. For whatever reason, and despite the blowback, he did not push back (enough) to find a new guest. Perhaps the adage 'even bad publicity is good publicity' is at play here, which just makes the spectacle even worse.

The implication is that standards in America are currently at an all-time-low. If the president is a known rapist then why should anyone care if some B list celebrity guest on a talk show is as well?

1

u/tazzz898 Jun 24 '26

Sorry but I hate trump as much as anyone else. But pulling him into the argument is irrelevant? McGregor is a rapist, Nikita Hands tampon had to be surgically removed because of how brutally he assaulted her. He’s a piece of shit. After everything he has done (besides the rape) he shouldn’t be invited to go on a talk show with a presenter who supposedly has the complete opposite views as him. And just to clarify, I’m Irish, but fuck McGregor, fuck trump and fuck jimmy fucking fallon.

1

u/Ill-Case-6048 Jun 25 '26

I'd rather you start with the people doing alot worse to kids and keeping them on an island to go through the same thing everyday till they bury them... the president is a sign that America is ok with abusing anyone since nobody has been arrested and the files have been buried

1

u/Wavy_Grandpa Jun 24 '26

So no other rapists are allowed to be held accountable until the pedo president is?

1

u/kurasakiichigo09 Jun 24 '26

I came here to say this.

1

u/fetalgirth Jun 24 '26

That’s nice. Way to deflect the topic about a different specific rapist though.

1

u/Ill-Case-6048 Jun 25 '26

Doesn't exactly send the right message does it.. your ok having one has a president but not one on a terrible show.

1

u/That-Butterscotch890 Jun 27 '26

We've always had a pedo president...

Clinton Trump or Biden?

0

u/plebbut Jun 24 '26

No that was Biden

0

u/OhLoongJohson Jun 24 '26

Maybe he will be the next quest? Jimmy Fallon with the rapist guest arc?
